Using Smart Notebook
Getting Started
o Start from the
beginning by
opening the program
and clicking: FILE
and NEW
o Anytime you want
to add a page to
your project, click
picture of paper with
a green plus
o To save your
project, FILE and
SAVE AS

Exploring Tools
o The Pen allows you to draw using different color lines, dotted
lines, and highlighting liner
oThe Magic Pen allows you to draw a line that will fade over
time
oThe Creative Pens allow you to draw with fun lines, including
smiles, rainbow colors, flowers, etc.
oErasers allow you to erase things using different thicknesses
o Line and Shape features let you make straight lines and
different shapes
oShape Recognition Pen lets you draw a shape, and will
convert it to a shape with straight lines.
oFill lets you color in an object with a color with one click
oAdd text using the Text feature

Exploring Features
o Adding objects: Click INSERT and you can
put a picture, sound or video onto your
notebook page. You can also drag items onto
the page
o Moving objects: Click on the picture of the
mouse pointer, hold the mouse on an object
and move.
o Editing objects: Click the white circle on the
object to resize and the green circle to rotate

o Gallery is a collection of items
you can insert into your project,
from a variety of subjects. They
include sounds, videos, pictures
and activities.
o To explore Gallery: Click VIEW
and GALLERY
o Gallery Sampler is organized by
subject
oTo insert in your project: Drag
onto the notebook page
