Science Olympiad Meeting Agenda – Wed. Oct. 26th, 2011
*We currently have one Varsity Team and two JV Teams. Allen sent out an email showing who is on what
team and what events each team member is competing in. Here are the captains of each team:
-Varsity: Matt Lee & Allen Yang
-JV A: Patrick Lambert & Justin Wong
-JV B: Priya Gupta
*Team Captain Responsibilities
-Be able to report to Mrs. Rotolo about the progress of construction events
-Make sure team members are not procrastinating!!
-Be a LEADER for your team
-Guide your team
-MOTIVATE your team
-Make sure everyone knows what they are doing & how to do it! Make sure team members who
need/want a person to use as a resource, have one! (Teachers, parents, Varsity team members are
willing to help. I can help team captains find resources if you let me know what events you need them
for)
-We do have available funding for supplies. Let me know what your team members need! Let me
know as early as possible what you need!
-Know WHO is competing in WHAT!
*IMPORTANT: Every team member should check NCSO website and read about their event description, rules,
& guidelines. The website also has resources such as past year’s practice tests & videos & links.
*Building events – you should start building NOW!

*Dates & Locations of Competitions
-Regional Competition: Feb. 4th @ Wakefield H.S.
-State Competition: April 27th-28th @ NCSU
-The team that goes to States will NOT necessarily be made up of only Varsity members!
Varsity will qualify our school to go to States but we will decide after regionals who is best fit
for the States competing team.
-National Competition: May 18-19 @ Orlando
