Wheels to Work Bike Loan and Discount Eligibility Bristol residents over the age of 16 are eligible for a £50 discount from the marked price of refurbished bikes if they: Are unemployed and seeking work Have been offered a job in the last four weeks, following a period of unemployment Earn less than the living wage Are in training, an apprentice or on a work placement We ask staff issuing the discounts to ensure customers are eligible by asking to see some proof of circumstance. Accepted forms of Proof of Circumstance Before issuing a discount under the Wheels to Work West scheme, please confirm the customer is eligible by asking to see one of the following documents: Letter or document confirming the customer is in receipt of benefits related to unemployment or low income (for example: Jobseekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit, Income Support) Offer of employment issued within the last calendar month Pay slip demonstrating the client is earning less than the living wage (The current living wage is £8.25 per hour – anyone earning below this hourly rate will be eligible for the discount) Correspondence from training provider Correspondence from workplace demonstrating the customer is an apprentice or undertaking an unpaid or low paid work placement or internship Invitation to job interview or training (where they are not currently employed)
