Simulator Options: Both easy-to-make, low-cost simulators.
I. Box simulator
II. Pfannenstiel simulator on mannequin
Option I Materials: Box Simulator
• Uterus: box or bedpan
• Fetus: toy baby or commercial baby mannequin
• Duct tape
• Thin red felt
• Thick red felt
• Plastic wrap
• Air bubble packing
• Cotton broad cloth
• Layers of uterus
o Uterine layer: thin layer of felt x2, sufficient to cover box or bedpan
o Peritoneal layer: plastic wrap
o Rectus muscle: thick layer of felt
o Fascial layer: duct tape
o Subcutaneous fat: air bubble packing
o Skin: cotton broad cloth

1. Empty printer paper box and insert the fetus (Fig. 1).
2. Wrap box using a double layer of felt as uterine layer (Fig. 2). Secure with duct tape.

3. Wrap box with plastic food peritoneum and secure with duct tape (Fig. 3).
4. Place strips of felt on top of box (Fig. 4).
5. Wrap half of box with duct tape (Fig. 4).

6. Cover box surface with air bubble packing (Fig. 5).
7. Place cotton broad cloth over air bubble packing and secure accordingly (Fig. 6).
