Tassomai Science - St Joseph`s College

ST JOSEPH ’ S
COLLEGE
5 October 2016
Dear Parent/Carer
Tassomai Science Programme
Following Year 11 Information Evening I am writing to inform you about the Tassomai Science programme which
was referred to on the night.
Tassomai makes learning and revising for GCSE Science as effective and straightforward as possible. Students can
see the revision topics they need to work through and it is tailored for all their GCSE Examination boards. On the
site students can see how they are getting on so far and what they should do next.
One of the key benefits of Tassomai is that it organises a daily routine, prioritising each topic and subject based
on progress so far and time remaining (i.e. the date of the exam). Students simply log in regularly and complete
the assignments at the top of the list. The goal is simple - students keep the pace of progress up to the speed
prescribed - a task that requires a few minutes attention each day.
Although Tassomai makes an excellent revision tool, it is most effective when used as a learning tool throughout
the school year. It will guide students through all tiers of entry, Core, Additional and the three separate sciences
of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It organises students’ independent revision and supports them in learning all
the content needed for their exams. It analyses performance and tailors its revision programme to the individual
so that they can fill in any gaps in their knowledge and practice for their exams.
Students can use Tassomai on a desktop computer or from their mobile phone. Tassomai ‘guarantees’ that every
student who completes at minimum 80% of the course will gain a C or above. To make the most of the resource
students will need to commit to doing a minimum of 15 minutes each day.
The cost of the Tassomai is £20.50 per student and you can only pay via ParentPay. Please log on to ParentPay
and select ‘Tassomai Science Programme’.

Once again we would like to thank you for attending the session last Tuesday evening and look forward to working
closely with you this year. The information booklet is also currently on the website for anyone interested.
Yours faithfully
