St Mary’s Children’s Liturgy Good Friday Service 3rd April
There will be a special Children’s Liturgy Service in the Parish Centre
on Good Friday (3rd April). Please bring the children to the Centre by
2.45pm at the latest and collect them immediately after the Adult/Main
Service.
The children will explore the message of Good Friday through the use
of drama, song and prayer. The children may come in costume. E.g. as
Apostles, priests, Our Lady, Mary Magdalene, Jesus, thieves, Pilate,
crowd, donkey etc!
All children of school age are welcome. Children under five are also
welcome but must be accompanied by a familiar adult. (This is for the
comfort of the child and to meet legal requirements.) The children will
be given light refreshments such as juice and biscuits. We would be
grateful for a small donation, on the day, to cover expenses.
Children must be registered to attend. Please fill in the form (found at
the back of the church) and bring it with you to the service . For more
information or if you can help with the service, please contact Tony
Smith (425128).
Ecumenical Bath Cross Walk on Good Friday 3rd April
“You are invited to join a walk through the streets of Bath and some of
the surrounding villages, following the Way of the Cross, using the
crucifixion to focus on God’s presence. We pause for a hymn, a reading
and a reflection at each station. You are welcome to join at any
convenient point.”
Bath Cross Walk will visit St Mary’s Church at 9.35am for a short
service before the walk moves onto Christ Church.
All the walks arrive at Abbey Church Yard (in front of the Abbey) by
11.05am. For those who are unable to walk Bath Abbey have arranged
an ecumenical service in the Abbey for 10.30am. This will finish in time
for the start of the final act of witness in the Abbey Church Yard, by
The Great West Door.
