Improvement Plan for 2017- We are always
looking for different ways to improve our club.
We greatly appreciated all feedback from the
questionnaires that were completed by the
parents and children in November.
This year we are looking to encourage more
parents/carers participate in involvement and
feedback within the club. We are also looking to
gain more feedback from the children and
evaluation of their day. We will be introducing a
new evaluation book for the children to complete
within the next couple of weeks. We will also be
promoting risky play more within the club such as
climbing trees, campfires etc. Below is a little bit
more of information about risky play and the
benefits of it. Our 2017 Improvement plan will be
displayed within the club for all to read.
Risky Play- Risky play is defined as thrilling and
challenging forms of play that involve a risk of
physical injury. This kind of play most often takes
place outdoors and in children’s free play.
The Benefits of Risky Play: Risk outdoors is
essential for children's growth, creating challenges
which allow children opportunities to succeed
and/or fail based on individual reasoning and
choices helping them to learn risk management.
Risky play has been shown to be beneficial to
children's development by helping them cope with
stressful situations, learn how to follow-through,
improve social interaction skills, increase
creativity, learn about human mortality, assist in
understanding their limitations, recognize areas

January 2017
What we have been up to- The children had lots
of fun during the December holidays at Deans!
They took part in various activities such as making
salt dough decorations, making homemade soup,
follow the stars, Erupting volcanoes etc…
Weather - Please ensure that children are dressed
appropriately for the walk to Ladywell club.
Parental Involvement/Polite Request- We greatly
appreciate all parents/carers involvement with
our club. We gain a lot of knowledge from your
feedback, so we would appreciate if you could
take time to speak with staff, sign documents
given; fill out our parent’s feedback book and to
sign your child/children out on the register please.
Could we also please ask that if forms are handed
out to parent/carer that they are completed and
returned as soon as possible as this is important
paperwork that we need to ensure your child is
getting the best possible care.
Can I kindly ask that you provide spare clothes for
your child/children as we are going to be doing a
lot more messy play within the club. You can keep
their spare clothes in their tray. Thank You.
If you have any questions or wish to talk to a
member of staff, you can speak with us when
collecting your child, arrange a meeting, over the
phone or you can email Caitlin at
