2017 Teen Summer Reading Program
“BUILD A BETTER WORLD”
“No one will protect what they don't care about;
and no one will care about what they have never
experienced.”
― David Attenborough
Within this summer's theme,
"Build A Better World,"
teens will have a chance to explore
environmental and sustainability issues
and learn what they can do to help
build a better world for their generation
-- and future generations.
KICKOFF EVENT
Thursday, June 29, 2017 * 3-4 p.m.
NATURAL RESOURCES COUNCIL OF MAINE
Did you know that Maine is the largest state in New England?
Did you know that within our borders are spectacular mountains,
unbroken forests, and bountiful waters?
Did you know our rivers, lakes, streams, and forests
are home to many different fish, plants, trees, birds, and wildlife?
The Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) educates people
about the beauty and value of Maine’s woods, waters, and wildlife.
They share information about the challenges and opportunities our
natural resources face and connect people with ways to help protect
Maine’s environment.
NRCM is pleased to help kick off, “Build a Better World”
at the Auburn Public Library.
Come hear staff member Gabrielle Grunkemeyer talk about NRCM,
what’s happening in our environment right now,
and how you can help protect it!
“You cannot get through a single day without
having an impact on the world around you. What
you do makes a difference, and you have to decide
what kind of difference you want to make.”
—Jane Goodall
