How to enter
Making your entry:
ARCHITECTURE AWARDS
2017
Well designed buildings and open
space enhance our quality of life.
In recognition of this, Barnet Council
in partnership with Re is launching
the Delivering For Barnet Architecture
Awards 2017.
Have you been involved in completing a
new building, an alteration to an existing
building or public space that is of high
quality design and positively contributes
to the borough?
Entries to be submitted using the Entry Form and
be accompanied by a location plan with no more
than 3 photographs including external and internal
images (if relevant).
In no more than 500 words, you will need to
provide a full description of the project explaining:
• why the project is of high quality design
• how it positively contributes to
the existing built environment
• how your entry contributes to health
and wellbeing in the Borough
• details of any innovative techniques
used in its construction
All entries must be received by 5pm
on Friday 15 September 2017.

After your entry has been received
Entry criteria
• The project must be located within
the London Borough of Barnet
• The project must have been completed
between 1 September 2014, and be in
full use by the closing date for entries
on 15 September 2017
Entries can include:
• Residential alterations: including extensions,
refurbishments, conversions or restorations;
• Non-residential alternations: including
extensions, refurbishments, conversions
or restorations;
• Residential new build (10+ units)
• Residential new build (under 10 units)
• Non-residential new builds:
• New or improved public open spaces: including
new pedestrian routes, parks, gardens or play
areas that include structural design elements.
• We will confirm receipt of your entry
• A summary of your entry and supporting
photographic images will be displayed on
the Barnet Architecture Awards web-page.

• The Judging Panel will short-list entries
in mid-September
• All shortlisted entries will appear on the
website and entrants advised accordingly
• The Judging Panel will undertake site
visits to each of the shortlisted sites
• Winners will be announced at an
awards ceremony on 21 November
Barnet Peoples’ Choice Award
In addition to the Judging Panel’s decision,
residents of Barnet will have the opportunity
to vote for their favourite shortlisted project,
to decide the ‘Peoples’ Choice Award’.
• Heritage and conservation
The winners of the Peoples’ Choice Award will
also be announced at the awards ceremony.
• Civic Project
Voting will open in mid-September.
