Welcome to ITEC Innovation
ITEC have been established for many years and
have a proven track record in selling Textile
measuring instruments Worldwide.
At ITEC we manufacture and distribute industry
standard analysis equipment for the wool industry
and also offer a range of spares, spinning
accessories and fabric testing equipment. We have
a large range of testing equipment and spares
which include the Almeter, Fibroliner, Laserscan,
Sirospun, Sirofast and Solospun. The instruments
measure various parameters including Fibre
Length, Fibre Diameter, Diameter distribution,
Fabric tensile strength and hydro stability. Along
with new equipment ITEC also supply
refurbished equipment of the above, prices for
refurbished equipment vary.
The ability to accurately measure fibre length is
crucial within the Textile industry and with the
AL100 being more than 20 years old and spares
becoming obsolete, there is a real need for our
equipment and spares.
The Almeter is a Windows 8 based instrument and has
passed the IWTO (International Wool
Texting Organisation) round trial and therefore is
certified to work in QC Laboratories worldwide.
In addition ITEC sell Textile spares and accessories for
the above equipment. ITEC also offer installation,
servicing and training of our instruments using one of our
nominated highly trained Technicians. Training takes
place on site with the Customers New/Refurbished
equipment enhancing their knowledge of their particular
equipment. Training of the equipment usually takes 3
days on site. We are also available to assist with a design
and manufacturing service for Textile related products.
ITEC sell the instruments via the network of worldwide
Agents. We believe supplying equipment through our
worldwide network means the customer always has
advice locally to troubleshoot any problems and to
answer any questions.

Laserscan provides precise measurements for mean
fibre diameter and diameter distribution including
coarse edge statistics.
It has full International Wool Textile Organisation
(IWTO) Test Method Status (IWTO-12), and
consequently results may be certified and applied to
wool trading.
The Test Specifications developed by the IWTO for the
measurement of wool sliver and analysis of the
Interwoollabs round trials between laboratory range
data show that the Laserscan provides superior
measurement precision.
Solospun is a versatile new weavable singles technology that
can halve yarn manufacturing costs. Simply installed and
operated, Solospun offers a highly efficient, cost effective
alternative to two-fold, Sirospun or sizing, producing an
abrasion-resistant yarn that is visually indistinguishable from a
normal singles yarn, but strong enough to be weavable in the
warp.
Solospun allows the use of finer yarns for lighter fabrics –
creating new opportunities for product design – and also enables
singles yarns from broader micron wools to be successfully
woven into high quality lightweight fabrics.
The Sirospun Process enables the production, on the spinning
Laserscan provides Diameter and Coefficient of
Variation Diameter, to better determine fibres in the
cross section, the major influence on yarn evenness and
performance.
Laserscan enables measurement of the course fibres in
the distribution ensuring optimal wool selection for
garments to be worn next to the skin.
Laserscan is routinely used by the AWTA Ltd to
measure the Mean Fibre Diameter and Distribution of
Mohair, Cashmere and Alpaca.
SiroFAST can tell you how a fabric will perform in terms of
compression, extension, bending and stability. Each test results
in what is known as a ‘Fabric Fingerprint’ – essentially a plotted
chart – and the results can be used for fabric specifications,
developing new fabrics, comparing fabric finishing routes,
assessing the stability of finished fabrics and predicting tailoring
performance and final garment appearance.
Pressing Performance Test
Laserscan is the preferred choice of the Australian
Wool Testing Authority Ltd (AWTA LTD), the largest
wool testing company in the world, for the routine
certification of Mean Fibre Diameter and Distribution
of Diameter for Australian greasy and scoured wool.
Use of Laserscan for constant “real-time” monitoring of
production enables blend engineering and control via a
fast and precise measurement system, ensuring required
Fibre Diameter Mean and Distribution are met.
when made up into a garment- providing invaluable information
for fabric manufacturers, suppliers, finishers and garment
manufacturers. The tests are simple and the equipment is easy
to use; results can be obtained quickly and are provided in a
graphical form which facilitates rapid interpretation and
application.
The SiroFAST Pressing Performance Test means that you can
give garments the assurance of high quality appearance after
pressing and retention of this appearance during storage and
wear.
frame, of a directly weavable two-fold Sirospun ply yarn. The
elimination of the two-folding and other ancillary processes
provides significant cost savings when compared to
conventional yarn production. Sirospun is a well proven
spinning system used throughout the world, which has produced
significant amounts of long and short staple worsted yarns since
its commercial introduction.
Because Sirospun yarn is produced directly on the ring spinning
machine, the output of the ring spinning frame and winding
machine is virtually doubled
In addition to lower production costs a simplified plant layout
can be achieved with the elimination of the twisting process.
Fast Assurance
FAST is a system of fabric measurement for assessing the
appearance, handle and performance properties of fabrics. A
simple series of tests can predict how a fabric will perform
The SiroFAST Pressing Performance Test makes it possible to
predict precisely how a wool fabric will perform during and
after pressing. For the garment manufacturer this predictability
offers a number of important benefits

Consistent garment appearance and sales appeal
High acceptability – fewer rejections
Quality is perceived to be better because seams are
flat and creases and pleats are sharp
THE ALMETER AL 100TS SYSTEM
The ALMETER AL 100TS provides an
objective appraisal of all
fibre length characteristics and length
distribution of wool
and other animal hairs.
The fully automated system scans the fibre
sample and
provides an objective determination of all
length
characteristics of the fibres. The results are
statistically
assured and can either be saved to file or a
printout of
Barbe, Tuft and Hauteur can be produced.
The use of the
ALMETER is highly recommended for
merchants, testing
laboratories, top makers and spinning mills.
