I have registered my child for girl’s volleyball. What happens next?
Once registration has been completed, we will schedule a draft for each age group, if needed.
You will be notified of the time and location for your child’s draft by email. If you have a
scheduling conflict, please let us know so that we may inform you of an alternate time. If that
time also conflicts with your schedule, it will not affect your child because all registered
participants will be placed on a team.
Team Selection.
Your child will participate in practices the first two weeks. Coaches will be monitoring their
skill levels to separate each player and make each team as even as possible. The third week
should be the first week each player (ages 10 and Up) will report to a team.
What equipment do I need to provide for my child to play volleyball?
No equipment is needed. WPRD will provide enough volleyball’s for each practice and games.
Your child may prefer to wear volleyball knee pads. This is optional.
What does my child get for signing up to play volleyball?

What else do I need to know about the volleyball program offered by the Wendell Parks and
Recreation Department?
The Wendell Parks and Recreation volleyball program is designed to provide every child with
the opportunity to participate in an organized program that teaches them the fundamentals of the
sport in a positive atmosphere. We strongly suggest that all parents support our efforts to ensure
a positive experience for all participants. In order to maintain a positive atmosphere in our
program, standings are not kept in any of our leagues.
