Converting a Movie File From YouTube or Another Internet Movie Site
Youtube.com is blocked because of the inappropriate video materials available on the web site. However, there
are also videos that can be very valuable video content for use in a school setting. Follow the steps below to
convert and download a movie file for use in school.
You must do these steps at HOME:
Step 1: Find the video on www.youtube.com that you would like to convert.
Step 2: On www.youtube.com click on the movie icon/title and go to that movie page on www.youtube.com
Step 3: Open a second Internet Explorer (IE) browser window and go to www.zamzar.com You now have two
Internet Explorer (IE) windows open simultaneously.
Step 4: Switch back to the www.youtube.com movie page and COPY the movie Internet address (Example:
http://youtube.com...) from the IE browser address bar at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Switch to the www.zamzar.com IE browser window that you have opened.
Step 6: Paste the youtube.com Internet address into the second window – Download Videos
Step 7: Next choose the format to convert to: Click on the down arrow and slide to the bottom to choose a
video format. Choose mpg or wmv for Windows Media Player.
Step 8: Enter your Council Rock e-mail address to receive the converted file.
Step 9: Click on the www.zamzar.com Convert Button.
Step 10: Wait for the e-mail to tell you your file is ready for download.
