“Made by Uhde“
Friedrich Uhde, the founder of Uhde High
Pressure Technologies, already developed
processes for the manufacture of nitric acid
and ammoniac fertilizers in the twenties of
the past century. Today, he is deemed to be
one of the most important pioneers in chemical engineering.
As high-pressure equipment had not been
available in the market at that time, he built
up a factory himself: Since 1930 Uhde High
Pressure Technologies has been existing as
an independent company. At that time he
could not imagine that one day “his“ technology would be used up to 14,000 bar for the
extraction of naturally occurring substances,
the cutting of metals or the preservation and
production of food.
Until today Uhde High Pressure Technologies has framed progress in high-pressure
technologies and always committed itself to
the opening up of new application fields.
For decades, Uhde High Pressure Technologies has been one of the worldwide leading
specialists in this industry and - being an
established partner - develops plants and
components at the current state of the art for
all important clients and licensors.

Mechanical
design
Optimum design of components
and the overall system
By means of well trained and experienced
designers we are able to adopt the complete planning of the plant as well as the
design and calculation of the most important
equipment components like e.g. tanks, heat
exchangers, pumps, valves and piping. Hereby, we use the means of modern 3D planning
software and apply the finite element method
to do stability calculations for plant components. Any planning and design is done on
the basis of internationally used standards,
codes and regulations.
Apart from process design and optimization
we especially support our clients during
the scale-up by means of evidence-based
methods on the basis of results in the lab or
pilot plant scale.

Already when raw steel is purchased we pay
attention to the best possible quality, since
impurities can result in trouble spots. Therefore, we only use sorts of steel of maximum
quality, which we exclusively purchase from

reactors we nowadays possess well founded
material and manufacturing competence.
We achieve uninterrupted quality assurance
in compliance with international standards by
the consequent inspection of surfaces, bores,
wall thicknesses and material volumes, which
we already perform in the course of manufacturing processes. Further to that, we make
sure by nondestructive examination and
destruction tests as well as corrosion tests
in independent test labs that the components
manufactured by us meet all requirements
concerning hardness, pressure, tightness,
flexibility and precision.
