Convert Single Outlines To Satin (V3.00+) Ethos now has the ability to automatically convert closed single outlines (from a True Type font for example) to satin outlines automatically. This is achieved by selecting the single outline required for conversion and selecting the menu option Tools->Conversion Tools->Satin Convert From Outlines. Example Of Converting True Type Lettering 1) Create a new design in the Drawing Composer, add some True Type text using the Arial font at 10mm. 2) Change context to the Virtuoso punching system (Views->Change Context). 3) Select the the whole text object by clicking on it with the selector tool. 4) Press the button to auto-convert it. Example Of Converting A Single Character Of True Type Lettering 1) Repeat steps 1 & 2 of the example above. 2) For this example we shall assume that the letter ‘e’ in the word ‘Some’ is required to be converted. Using the selector tool, hold down the <CTRL> key and individually select the outer part of the ‘e’. 3) While still holding down the <CTRL> key now press and hold down the <SHIFT> key and select the inner contour of the ‘e’ (holding down <SHIFT> will add the inner contour to the selection). Note :- This method of selecting individual elements using the <CTRL>+<SHIFT> can also be used on any type of drawing, for example a drawing imported from a CorelDraw file. But it should be noted that you should select the outer contour first then the inner ones. Step stitch digitising tool. Digitised shape with hole. 2) Select the step stitch object and convert it to satin by pressing the tool bar button. 3) Press the <DEL> to delete the original step stitch object.
