STOREBOARD MEDIA SERVICE TRAINING MANUAL
Storeboard Media represents advertising signage (posters and sleeves) that are installed on security pedestals
in CVS, Rite Aid, Kerr Drug, Walgreens and K Mart. This certification is a general overview of the Storeboard
Media program. Refer to in store instructions for individualized instructions for each retailer regarding the type
and number of pedestals planned in stores assigned to you.
Each Retailer will have a Letter of Authorization (LOA):
 Each LOA will state the advertising period and the specific advertisement that you are authorized to
install.
 Be sure to print and bring the correct LOA with you for the respective Retailer.
The installation time frame for Storeboard Media projects is 1 week:
 All installations must be completed in the specified week (7 days).
 You may begin installation the Saturday before the scheduled week.
The in-store time for Storeboard Media projects is 30 MINS
Attitude and Demeanor:
 You are a guest in the merchant’s location
 Be respectful and courteous to the merchant and customers at all times
 Wait for your turn if a customer is being helped and the manager is busy
 Accommodate the Manager to the best of your ability without wasting valuable time
 Show enthusiasm about the StoreBoard Media program
 Be professional at all times
Dress Code – Business Casual:
 You are representing StoreBoard Media as well as Driveline Retail Merchandising
 Be neat in your appearance at all times
 Docker type pants with either polo shirts or button down dress shirts are acceptable
 Shirts must be tucked in at all times
 Belts must be worn if pants have belt loops
 No denim fabric, t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, tennis shoes, sandals visible tattoos or body piercings

Security Pedestals are devices installed by the store at the entrances/exits that prevent theft.
 You are required to identify the pedestals found in the store
o Your ‘in-store instructions’ identify the type of pedestals expected to be in the store
 If the correct pedestals are found you will confirm that the store had expected pedestals
 If the store has other than the expected pedestals you will be required to identify the
pedestals in the store and take a photo showing the pedestals
 Some of these pedestals take posters that slide behind a plexiglass - 1 poster each side
o Liberty with Ad Panel
o Evolve with Ad Panel
 Some of these pedestals use sleeves which slide down over and cover the pedestal
o P20
o QS2000
o QS4000
o Evolve without Ad Panel
o K Mart pedestals
The components (advertising posters/sleeves) will be shipped directly to your home:
 All components will arrive the week prior to the installation scheduled start date.



If you have not received your components by the Friday prior to installation week notify field support
immediately.
Check all stores assigned to you and make sure you were shipped enough sleeves/posters to complete
installation in all stores.
If you are short components please notify field support immediately
Removal of Existing advertising signage:
 You must remove existing Advertising signage from all pedestals in the store (NOT GRAPHICS
PERTAINING TO CVS-Extra Care Card or 24hr signs as seen below)
o Even if you cannot install new advertising on any or all pedestals you will remove existing
advertising signage
o If Manager does not allow you to remove existing advertising please accept and report accordingly
 Do not dispose of any material on Retailer property
o Please remove and dispose these advertising signage off retailer property
The POG assigned to each Retailer/store will state the type and number of pedestals expected to be in
that specific Retailer/store.
 You may be assigned several locations
 The POG will state the specific Retailer assigned and the type and number of pedestals expected in
that location.
o EXAMPLE: POG States: WALGREENS - SMALL SLEEVES FOR QS2000 PEDESTALS - 6
PEDESTALS PER STORE
 This store is planned for a total of 6 security pedestals
 The type of pedestal planned is the QS2000
 You will receive a total of 6 small sleeves to be installed in this store
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not remove the CVS DEFAULT
GRAPHICS on the pedestals. They include “24hr posters” and “Extra
Care Card”. MOST STORES SHOULD HAVE THIS DEFAULT
GRAPHIC.
Install new graphic posters in front of them.
Do not install more advertising signage than planned in any location
 You were sent the correct amount of components for each location
 If you use more than expected in a store you will run out of components for another store
 Please report if the store has more pedestals than expected
 Because you were unable to install all pedestals, this will be considered a partial install
Photo Requirement:
 You must take a photo of properly installed pedestals
o Photo should be taken from an angle so the same side (left or right) of all pedestals is showing
o This angle view should show the same image that has been installed on each side of each pedestal
(see below)
 If store has pedestals other than those expected and you are unable to install you must take a photo of
the pedestals in order to show the type of pedestals in that store


People Counter

Some of these pedestals have a People Counter
o A people counter “counts” how many people enter and exit each day
o If a pedestal has a people counter the signage you receive for that pedestal will have a
rectangular cut out for the People Counter “Electronic Eyes”
o It is important to install the correct People Counter poster/sleeve so you do not obstruct the
electronic people counter eyes.
o If you do not receive enough People counter posters you may carefully cut out a rectangular
piece for the people counter holes in the posters received.
If more than 1 image is sent always install the same graphic on the same side of each
pedestal: This is true for both posters and sleeves:
o When looking at the pedestals from an angle you should see the same image (you are seeing
the same side of each pedestal)
o When you walk thru the pedestals (as a customer does when entering/exiting the store) you will
see a different image on the left and a different image on the right because you are looking at the
left side of one pedestal and the right side of the 2nd pedestal.

HELPFUL TIP
If the Poster Ad doesn’t slide easily in the
Back Track (in front of the Generic CVS
Poster), make sure that the Generic CVS
Poster isn’t stuck in the Front Track.
(Check both sides, throughout the whole track
height).

You will not be able to install posters on the following Liberty & Evolve pedestals due to missing
plexiglass
o You will be required to identify if a pedestal needs plexiglass

o Sleeves slide down over the pedestal
o Remove the adhesive from the tabs at the bottom of the sleeve and attach at the top of the
pedestal base so the sleeve does not slide to the floor
