23 August 2016 Dear Sir/Madam RE: Hamilton Public Transport Rate Earlier this year we made changes to our bus routes to provide residents in the Rototuna and Flagstaff areas with better access to public transport. A new route, 4N Flagstaff North, has been created. Extensions have also been made to the Rototuna Direct East and Rototuna Direct West routes, with buses now travelling to Borman Road. This means your property is now within 800m of a bus route, and as a result your upcoming Waikato Regional Council rates invoice will include the Hamilton public transport direct benefit rate. For your property at xxx this rate will be $xxx. Buses are a key part of the transport system in Hamilton, with more than 3.5 million passenger journeys made within the city last year. The bus network provides connectivity for residents and visitors and helps reduce traffic congestion for all road users. We’re working to deliver significant improvements for bus services in the northern suburbs. These changes will include a frequent, seven day a week bus service to all areas in Rototuna and Flagstaff. For more details about current bus services in this area, please refer to the enclosed flyer for maps and service information, visit www.busit.co.nz or call 0800 4 BUSLINE (0800 42875 463). For information regarding your Waikato Regional Council rates please phone 0800 800 401. Yours faithfully Andrew Wilson Manager, Public Transport Operations
