Assume Positive Presentation

Assume + Intent

Assuming the best in others doesn’t
mean believing that everyone does the
right thing all the time. It is a belief that
everyone is doing the best they can,
given their current thinking.
Notes:
1.Video – Opportunity to practice Assuming “negative”
Intent…What was the receiver thinking? What was the
linesman thinking?...
2.Cell Phone – Physical Therapist visit recently. As I was doing
the exercises, he took out his cell phone. I thought
“hmm…he’s not being here now” but about 10 seconds later
he turned and showed me the coolest app that showed my
musculature and why I was experiencing pain.
3.Pt Arm – Staff member shared an experience of a pt. who
was a difficult stick and had other multiple stick marks. Her
body language and facial expressions must have been
negative because the pt. said, “I know what you are
probably thinking. I give blood and plasma as much as I can
to help feed my daughter and me.”
