Students are expected to attend each listed trial. Reminders will not be sent to attend trials. Selection process Selection will be made on the basis of Form at the trials Skills demonstrated at selection trials Known ability in local competition Known ability or ranking as indicated by school/district Ability and cooperation demonstrated in playing a variety of positions Being a ‘good sport’ and demonstrating good behaviour on and off the field Parental permission has been obtained for the championship The selection panel will comprise of the coach and manager plus others who may be asked to assist. Compulsory commitments if selected All selected team members will be required to attend All team trainings and a team photo shoot. All dates will be notified once they have been confirmed All aspects of the SSA Championship including the opening and closing ceremonies, excursion and all competition aspects Endorsement Please note that selection in a Sapsasa team requires endorsement from the student’s school principal before coming final. Therefore parents are advised not to make any arrangements that incur costs until the school has confirmed that the student fulfils all requirements Championship costs An individual itemised account will be provided for every student selected in a Sapsasa team. Levies, travel and training costs will be included on the invoice. Uniforms, accommodation, food and personal spending money will be additional costs for families and will not appear on the invoice. Please note that trips interstate may be quite expensive and many have exceeded $1000. All uniforms are to be ordered online with a credit card payment direct to the suppliers required to process the order. Accommodation Parents who are in a position to accompany their children must provide their own accommodation whist at the championship. This also includes transport to and from the venue each day. Should this not be possible then the family will need to negotiate with Sapsasa to arrange appropriate accommodation Travel If selected in a state team, a non-refundable flight booking fee applies. This amount will be included on the student’s itemised account. Students have 2 travel options 1. Travel with officials as a group to and from the championship, with all travel arrangements coordinated through the Sapsasa office 2. Parent/caregiver may negotiate independent travel arrangements (eg plane, bus, train, car) for the return trip only. Students who are returning independently of the group, but on the same flight, bus, train, car must still be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.
