Figure B shows the sleeve with (a) placement target (soccer ball symbol), (b) placement indicator (straight line), and (c) the dimpled finger grip. 4 Remove the elastic sleeves (one at a time) from the plastic clip by gently lifting the wide dimpled end of each sleeve off the wide end of the clip. Then grasp the sides of the narrow end of the sleeve and gently slide the sleeve off the clip. 5 6 (a) Replace each elastic sleeve. Then gently stretch the pocket of the wide end of the sleeve over the wide end of the plastic clip. The soccer ball on the sleeve is a visual indicator of the emitter or detector underneath. Position the clip on the finger such that (a) the straight line on the sleeve (the placement indicator) is at the tip of the finger. Do not cover the entire finger with the clip. CLEANING Caution: To avoid damage to the elastic sleeves, do not turn them inside out during cleaning. Caution: Do not sterilize by irradiation, steam, or ethylene oxide. D o not use the Pediatric SpO2 Sensor Clip for unattended or continuous monitoring as clip pressure could compromise patient skin integrity and/or possibly cause neural damage. Clean the assembled clip, sensor, and sleeves by wiping the surfaces with a gauze pad that has been soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol or a solution of 1:10 bleach (5.25% sodium hypochlorite) and water. Then wipe the surfaces with a gauze pad that has been soaked in sterile or distilled water. 2. D o not expose the sensor and pediatric clip to bright ambient light during use; this may cause inaccurate measurements. In such cases, cover the sensor site with an opaque material. Read the sensor’s “Directions for Use” insert for complete instructions for use, including all warnings, cautions and specifications, prior to use of this product.
