2 Dosages of Afrikelp© LG-1 in Soybeans Objective: Evaluate the effect of 2 different applications of Afrikelp on yield in soybeans Who: Hermann Schmidt Where: Commercial farm in Gnodstadt, Germany Study Design: Controlled field study, randomized 5 x 10 plants per treatment Variety: Gallec When: 28.04.2011 – 28.09.2011 Treatments: No Treatment 2 wks after sowing 1 Control 2 Afrikelp 1 L/ha (1:200) 4 Afrikelp 1 L/ha (1:200) Reference: Data on file 4 wks after sowing 1 L/ha (1:200) Results: No Weight of pods incl beans of 5 plants (g) % Percentage beans to pods Weight of beans (g) 5 plants % 1 142 100 64,3% 91 100 2 148 104,8 66,3% 98,3 107,6 4 140 98,9 67,3% 94,2 103,4 Conclusion: Control Afrikelp© Both LG-1 treatments increased yield of soybeans over the positive control. AK LG-1 (1x) AK LG-1 (2x) 110.0% 108.0% The best result was achieved with 1 treatment of 1 L AK/ha after 14 days. This increased yield by 7,6%. The second treatment did not bring an additional benefit. It resulted in a slightly delayed ripening with slightly less but heavier beans at this harvesting point but still 3,4% more yield compared to the control. 106.0% 104.0% 102.0% 100.0% 98.0% 96.0% 94.0% Weight Pods incl.
