World Class Gas Purification
The perfect partnership
The cornerstone of Xebec technology was laid
decades ago with the development of its proprietary
compact, fast-cycle pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system
featuring a simple, reliable, and cost-effective rotary valve.
Since then, Xebec has developed a variety of
equipment and system designs for applications as
diverse as conditioning well gas streams to helium
and hydrogen purification.
From fabrication through installation and operational support,
Xebec has provided commercially successful solutions to
CO2 separation and contaminant removal around the world,
continuously meeting or exceeding performance standards
for delivering stringent quality specifications for pure pipeline
natural gas and vehicle fuel.
Performance excellence - Xebec’s proprietary
technology is in use around the globe.
Today, Xebec is a world class gas purification
company with a team of global experts in membrane
technology who have developed and built over 100
membrane separation units in a variety of gas processing
applications around the globe. Now the team is poised to
introduce you to a new generation of membranes.
When you need to treat your gas effectively and efficiently
in preparation for pipeline sales or for other applications
like enhanced oil recovery (EOR), look no further than
Xebec for your technology solution.

Next Generation Membranes
A simple process
The better solution for
CO2 removal
The separation process for CO2 found in natural gas
commonly includes an amine treatment plant, typically
large, complex, with high capital, operating and
installation costs, along with higher fuel costs and
some environmental and corrosion concerns.
Membrane technology has vastly improved this process
by providing high efficiency separation while eliminating
moving parts, downsizing space and weight, adding
flexibility for a wider range of flow rates, and allowing
for remote or unattended operations. This has allowed
oil and gas producers to improve their costs, increase
their output and simplify their operations. When space,
transportation or utilities are limited, modular membrane
systems with their smaller footprint and weight
are the ideal choice.
Feed gas is normally conditioned to remove any
particulates and liquid contaminants (pre-treatment).
The gas then enters the membrane modules where the
CO2 permeates through the membrane, leaving the
non-permeated product gas, mainly CH4, at pressure.
Separation by means of hollow fiber membranes is a
continuous process driven by the principle of selective
permeation of different components across the membrane
wall. The rate of permeation of each component present
in the feed is determined by its solubility in the membrane
material, and the rate of diffusion through the membrane
wall. This allows “fast” gases such as CO2 to be
separated from “slow” gases such as methane.
For certain applications, a one-stage configuration
is adequate for high hydrocarbon recovery.
Depending on design operating conditions, another
membrane stage can be added to achieve up to 99%
hydrocarbon recovery.
