Committees will receive separate budget envelopes dedicated to each stream. Stream A will have a target success rate higher than Stream B. Source: SSHRC Update: CARA 2017 Annual Conference handout, Monday May 8, 2017 www.usask.ca Update – Insight Grant – Two Streams Researchers are not currently permitted to apply for an Insight Grant and Insight Development Grant in the same calendar year. However, with the introduction of the two streams, an unsuccessful applicant from Insight Development Grant 2017 may apply for a Stream A or a Stream B Insight Grant in 2017. Source: SSHRC Update: CARA 2017 Annual Conference handout, Monday May 8, 2017 www.usask.ca Update – Insight Grant – Two Streams Why is it being offered? The new, two-stream approach for Insight Grants responds to concerns raised by both researchers and peer reviewers: namely that there is a perceived bias encouraging larger and longer grants and that there are currently no options for established scholars seeking smaller grants to support ongoing research. When will it be offered? The official announcement and launch will take place in 2017. It is expected that the changes will be implemented for the 2017 IG competition.
