Areas we may explore include Mask, Physical Theatre, Mime, Script work, Devising, Movement, Greek Chorus, Voice work, backstage and production skills. Tuesdays and Wednesdays – School Years Reception -13 - £75 per term (10 weeks) Primary Ballet Our Primary Ballet classis fantastic fun and a great way starting point for any budding ballerinas or simply any child who wants to try something new and exciting. We combine traditional ballet syllabus with fun current music helping to engage children in dance, improve body awareness, control and placement. We also teach children important social skills during the class such as sharing attention, taking turns and working as part of a group. Saturday’s 10-11am - £75 per term (10 weeks) – Ages 4-7 years MKT Singing Class Our very own Glee club, this class works on vocal warm ups, techniques and then moves on to learn songs that we all know and love from old classics to modern day hits. This will be a fun, informal singing class aimed at ages 10-16 year olds, and helps grow their confidence and make new friends along the way. Thursday’s 7-8pm - £75 per term (10 weeks) – Ages 10-16 years Street Dance If you have always wanted to learn how to dance like your favourite pop stars then join our brand new fun and energetic street dance class. Spend an hour learning funky street dance routines to catchy current chart songs. Saturday’s 11.15am-12.15pm - £75 per term (10 weeks) – Ages 5-10 years ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Theatrical Workshops Directing Workshop If you have ever dreamed of becoming a theatre director then this workshop will show you how! Taking place on an afternoon during half term you will be taught the skills behind theatre directing, led by professional Actor Tony Howes. Mon 28th Oct – 12.30-4.30pm - £20pp (Ages 12-18 years) Wicked Themed Musical Theatre Half-term Course Spend three days during half-term immersed in singing, acting and dancing learning scenes, songs and dance routines from the hit west-end musical Wicked. Taught by a professional musical director and director/choreographer from the prestigious Sylvia Young theatre school. Wed 30th Oct – Fri 1st Nov - 10am-4pm - £100 (Ages 8-13 years) Pantomime Themed Make-up Workshop This work shop will give anyone who loves make-up, or someone who would like to pursue a career in the make-up industry, an insight into how to create make-up looks for pantomime characters. You will be watching demonstrations as well as having the chance to practice some of the skills and techniques learnt on yourself or each other. Sat 21st Dec 11.30am-5.30pm, £50pp (Ages 12-18) £50pp, includes all make-up equipment during workshop Les Miserables Masterclass Led by Shaun Dalton star of Les Miserables in the West End this masterclass will consist of an introduction to the show and a run down of the characters followed by the chance to learn ‘The people's song’ and ‘One day more’. Students will be workshopped into character by taking part in drama games before learning routines from the show as close to the west end direction as possible! Mon 30th Dec – 10am-1pm - £20pp (Ages 11-16) Panto Wardrobe Workshop Wardrobe expert and experience dresser Rowena Bowers will take you on a fascinating journey teaching you everything there is to know about a theatrical wardrobe department and the art of dressing. She will then focus on pantomime costumes in particular panto dames, with plenty of costumes to look at up close - this workshop is ideal for anyone interested in working behind the scenes in wardrobe. Fri 3rd Jan – 11am-12.30pm - £10 (Ages 12-17 years) Panto Family Workshop Join us for a morning of panto themed family fun! The morning will involve a look on stage at the panto set, arts and crafts including wand and crown making, the chance to make dad’s up as panto dames and lots of panto fun and games! Sat 4th Jan - 12-1.30pm - £5pp (Suitable for ages 3-8 years and parent(s)) Swan Lake Themed Dance Workshop Join dancers from Re:bourne (the charitable education arm of New Adventures) in this three hour dance workshop where you will learn repertoire from Matthew Bourne’s production of Swan Lake. You will then be given a variety of creative dance tasks given by the dance company to create character and narrative, followed by a warm down and short Q&A with the dancers. Sat 1st Feb – 10am-1pm - £30 (Ages 14-21) Day of Dance A chance to come & lean a mix of dance styles including musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, street and cheer. Ideal for young dancers missing their classes over the half term or the chance to try out new dance styles. Suitable for all levels. Taught by Rebecca Marie Academy of Dance. Mon 17th Feb – 10am-2.30pm – £20 (Ages 5-11) Stage Combat Workshop This workshop is aimed at ages 14+, offering technique and safety foundation skills in unarmed combat, with the emphasis on the theatrical presentation. No prior experience is necessary. Tue 18th Feb – 10am-1pm - £20 (Ages 14-21) Introduction to Stand up Comedy This course is aimed at all those budding comedians and comedy actors out there. You’ll learn some of the tricks of Improv, and stand up comedy, and have the opportunity to learn, play and perform in a safe, supportive and inclusive workshop. The course is lead by Brian Two a comedian, writer and actor with 16 years experience in the business. Thu 20th Feb - 10am-1pm - £20 (Ages 9-13) Introduction to Stand up Comedy This course is aimed all those who fancy picking up a microphone and having a go. We’ll be looking at many aspects of stand up from how to get started, writing material, what makes us laugh as well as microphone technique and stagecraft. The course is an opportunity to engage with, and have a go at stand up comedy in a safe and supportive environment. The course is lead by Brian Two, a comedian, writer and actor with 16 years experience in the business.
