CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CHILDREN AND PARENTS

Bedminster Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well
being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches,
administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect,
encourage to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they
may have about any aspect of the club with either Chris Giles, Youth Secretary &
Child Welfare Officer, or Richard Filer, Child Welfare Officer.
As a member of Bedminster Cricket Club you agree to the following rules.






I must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions
I must respect opponents
I agree to timings for training and competitions and will inform my coach or
team manager if I am going to be late
I must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the
coach/team manager
I must pay any fees for training or events promptly
I will not smoke, consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises
or whilst representing the club at competitions
Parents will be expected to ensure their child follows the following rules:








Encourage my child to learn the rules and play within them and discourage
unfair play and arguing with officials
Help my child to recognise good performance, not just results
I will never force my child to take part in sport
Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good
performances of all
I will never punish or belittle my child for losing or making mistakes
I will always support my child and publicly accept officials’ judgments
I will support my child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport
I will use correct and proper language at all times
All players & parents of the youth section must read this
code of conduct and then will have to sign a form before the
start of the season; confirming they agree to follow this code
of conduct. Parents and young players are also expected to
comply with the Club’s overall Code of Conduct for
Members and Guests, displayed on the club noticeboard.
