basketballcampshavebeenheldonthecampus
ofLSUA.Thecampswilltakeplaceinsidethe
team’sgym,“TheFort”wheretheteamhasyetto
loseagameinthreeseasons.
ShortlyafterarrivingatLSUAin2014,head
coachLarryCordarobegantheLSUAsummer
campprogram.Ithasbeenasuccess,witha
growingnumberofcampparticipantseach year.Thissummerpromisestobepackedwith
somethingforboysandgirlsofallage
groups.Thecampsfocusonteachingplayersthe
basicfundamentalsofbasketballaswellas
shootingandballhandlingskills.
ThecampsarerunbyCoachCordaroandthe
assistantcoachesaswellasstudent-athletes
fromthethree-timedefendingConference
ChampionLSUAGeneralsBasketballteam.The
coachesandplayersarepassionateaboutthe
sportofbasketballandwanttopassthat
enthusiasmandknowledgetoallprospective
playersinafun,safe,andeducational
environment.CampswillbeofferedinJune,July
andAugust.

theGeneralsinauguralseason,LSUAhada23-4
recordinroutetowinningboththeconference
regularseasonandtournamentchampionship.
Cordaro’scoachingwasrewardedwithseveral
accolades,ledbybeingnamedDonMeyerNAIA
NationalCoachoftheYear.HealsowastheRed
RiverConferenceCoachoftheYearand
LouisianaAssociationofBasketballCoaches
smallcollegecoachoftheyear.Fourofhis
playerswereselectedasanAll-Conference
performer.IntheGeneralssecondseason,LSUA
hada29-4recordwhilerepeatingasregular
seasonRedRiverconferencechampions.
Cordaro’steamwas#1inthecountryforfive
straightweeks.TheyreachedtheSweet16atthe
NationalTournamentinKansasCity.They
finished#3inthefinalnationalpoll.Most
recently,CordaroledLSUAtotheFabFourinthe
NAIANationalTournament.Finishing34-1,
CordarowontheNAIANationalCoachofthe
Yearaward.Onceagain,theGeneralsfinished#3
intheNAIApostseasonrankings.LSUA’shome
courtwinningstreakcurrentlystandsat40
games.Cordaro’scoachingwasonceagain
rewardedwithseveralaccolades,ledbybeing
namedHoopDirtNAIANationalCoachofthe
YearandBasketballTimesCoachoftheYear.
