1. Drawing Arrangements for Direct Debit
The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited (RACQ) will advise
you in writing the details of your RACQ annual Roadside Assistance
or Lifestyle renewal fee Direct Debit amount at least 15 business
days prior to the first drawing. Any changes to your RACQ annual
Roadside Assistance or Lifestyle renewal fee/revised direct debit
amount will be notified to you 15 business days prior to the next
due date. Where the due date falls on a non business day, the
amount will be drawn on the following business day. If two or more
drawings are returned unpaid, RACQ reserves the right to cancel
the drawing arrangements. All fees incurred by RACQ as a result of
any dishonoured debits will be recovered from you. Your financial
institution may charge you separate fees for any dishonoured debits.
2.Your Rights in regards to Direct Debit
You can terminate or cease payment of a drawing to RACQ by
providing a written notice to the RACQ at least 15 business days
prior to the due date. You may also be able to stop an individual
debit by contacting your own financial institution. You may be
liable for financial institution charges if you do this. No drawings
will be made without your prior approval. Where you consider
that a drawing has been initiated incorrectly or you are disputing
an amount, you should take up the matter directly with RACQ on
13 1905 or your financial institution.
3.Your Responsibilities
a. Make sure your nominated account allows for Direct Debits
as direct debiting through the Bulk Electronic Clearing System
(BECS) is not available on all accounts. Check with your
financial institution to make sure that your account has this
facility. Also check to ensure that your nominated account
details are correct against a recent statement from your
financial institution. If you need help completing this form,
please contact your financial institution.
b. The authorisation given to draw on the nominated account
is identical to the account signing instruction held by the
Financial Institution where the account is based.
c. Ensure sufficient funds are available in the nominated account
to meet a drawing on its due date to avoid dishonour fees.
d. Change of nominated account – if you change, transfer or
close the nominated account from which your direct debit is
deducted, you will need to provide RACQ with a new direct debit
form setting out the new account details 15 business days prior
to the due date. The form can be obtained from RACQ’s website,
or you can call our call centre to have a new form sent to you.
e. You advise RACQ within 15 business days prior to the due
date, if you wish to cancel an RACQ drawing or to arrange an
alternate payment method.
4.Privacy
The information that you provide on the Direct Debit Request will
only be used by RACQ for the purpose intended. RACQ will take
reasonable precautions to maintain the confidentiality of your
records and account details. We will only disclose your information:
a. To the extent specifically required by law; or
b. For the purposes of this agreement (including disclosing
information in connection with any query or claim)

and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Direct Debit Request Service
Agreement (see next page).
