Talent Show Schedule/Rules:
Preliminary Competition: November 8th 2014 through February 14th 2015
Weeks 1 through 15 – Up to 20 competitors will compete, each having no more than 4 minutes to
perform their talent.
One winner will be selected by the Audience Members with a paper ballot, most votes win.
One winner will be selected by the Judges
Those two weekly competitors will be invited back to week 16 or 17 to compete in the 2nd round
If the Audience and Judges select the same winner, whoever has the second highest votes from the
Audience will win.
In the event there is a tie from the Audience voting, judges will break the tie with a secret ballot, best
two out three votes wins. If there is another tie Judges will continue a secret ballot and until that winner
is determined.
Round Number 2: February 21st and February 28th 2015
Week 16 and 17 will each feature 15 winners from week 1 through 15.
6 winners each week will be selected by the Audience Members with a paper ballot, most votes win.
In the event there is a tie from the Audience voting, judges will break the tie with a secret ballot, best
two out three votes wins. If there is another tie Judges will continue a secret ballot and until that winner
is determined.
Round Number 3: March 7th and March 14th 2015
Week 18 and 19 will each feature 6 winners from week 16 and 17.
2 winners will be selected by the Audience Members with a paper ballot, most votes win.
In the event there is a tie from the Audience voting, judges will break the tie with a secret ballot, best
two out three votes wins. If there is another tie Judges will continue a secret ballot and until that winner
is determined.
Semi Finals:
Week 20 will feature the top 4 winners
2 winners will be selected by the Audience Members with a paper ballot, most votes win.
In the event there is a tie from the Audience voting, judges will break the tie with a secret ballot, best
two out three votes wins. If there is another tie Judges will continue a secret ballot and until that winner
is determined..
Finals:
Week 21 will feature the Top 2 winners from the previous 20 weeks.
Audience will select the winner of the two competitors.
In the event there is a tie from the Audience voting, judges will break the tie with a secret ballot, best
two out three votes wins. If there is another tie Judges will continue a secret ballot and until that winner
is determined.
Winner will receive a check for $5000
Competition Rules:
The Route 19 Opry is proud to present this inaugural talent competition and is solely owned and
operated by Route 19 Produce.
The Competition is open to all age groups. Children under the age of 18 must have written permission
from their parent or legal guardian to participate.
Registration is Free – One Entry only per season
Performances will be limited to:
Singer (individual)
Singer (group or duo)
Comedy
Musician/Instrumental
Magic
Acts involving animals, fire, combustibles, knives, swords, weapons, nudity or profanity will not be
permitted to perform.
Performances must be no longer than 4 minutes. If you run longer than 4 minutes your act will not be
voted on.
Competitors are responsible to bring their own music, instrument and amplifiers. Route 19 Opry will
provide sound system and up to two microphones. Competitors will be given the opportunity to soundcheck during designated times prior to the evening they are scheduled to perform. Sound checks will
start at 4pm and end at 6pm sharp.
Competitors using back ground music or tracks must provide our sound engineer with music on mp3
flash drive, or CD. Route 19 Opry is not responsible for errors occurring with poor quality or flawed
downloaded music.
Up to 20 competitors will be accepted weekly from November 8th 2014 through February 14th 2015 on a
first come first serve basis. In the event there is a person or persons unable to compete, there will be a
stand-by list determined by order of the date the application was received.
You will be assigned your week and time to perform- changing dates with other competitors or
requesting different dates to perform is prohibited.
There will be no stand-by lists or additional entries into the competition past Week 15. If you are unable
to proceed to the next rounds of competition, your spot will be eliminated and will not be replaced.
All voting and results will be counted and verified by a local accounting firm prior to announcing the
winner(s).
Judges will be invited guests of Route 19 Opry and Route 19 Produce and will change weekly. Judges
may be invited back to participate at any time.
Grand Prize: One Winner
A check from in the amount of $5000.00 will be given to the winner of the 2014/15 competition.
Route 19 Opry and Route 19 Produce is not responsible for State/Federal taxes.
RT 19 Opry reserves the right to adjust judging and rule requirements to ensure fairness and scope of
competition.
If you are under a performance contract, you are not eligible to enter.
Family and Employees of RT 19 Produce, The Area Shopper and Millers Printing and Publishing are not
eligible to compete.
