DISTRICT ASSESSMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE CHARGE, MEMBERSHIP, AND TIMELINE CHARGE The Review Committee is charged with making a recommendation to the Superintendent’s Staff regarding which math and literacy classroom assessments the district should require, which should be optional, which of the current assessments might be discontinued, and which assessments might be added to provide data which we currently do not have. PROCESS The members will collect and review staff input and data on all district mandated and optional assessments in terms of the usefulness of the assessment to improve student learning. This will involve conversations within the committee and with colleagues, review of student outcomes and potential redundancy of information. Members will also consider state required assessments and the impact of the overall testing program. MEMBERSHIP One teacher representative from each elementary grade level and secondary English and Math departments to be determined in consultation with SEA One representative specialist from ELL, Title I/LAP, Special Education One secondary principal or assistant principal Two elementary principals (ideally one from each feeder pattern) Elementary and secondary TOSAs in math and literacy Director of Assessment and Student Learning Assessment and Highly Capable Specialist TIMELINE First meeting late November 2016 Frequency of meetings to be determined by members at first meeting February 6, 2016
