Setting foot on land of the US, nothing can oppress my excitation and expectancy. Now I am a
college student in the Ohio State University. I feel so proud. There are so many traditions in the OSU
and they are so unique. Like when I hear the word “OH”, I will feel an irresistible impulse to shout the
word “IO” loudly. But in the meantime, the sense of nervous and nostalgia can’t hide in my heart.
Sometimes I can’t stop missing the hometown and my family even though every weekend I will
contact them with the Skype. I believe my parents do so. I am the only son in my family. But
fortunately my parents never dote on me so that I fully developed my ability of independence. My
father is a manager of a realty company and a good architecture designer. Because of the location of
the company, my father usually works away from home in the week and come home in the weekend.
So all I’m worried about his health. I wish he can keep healthy and successful. And my mother is a
teacher of party school. In fact, she’s job is quite comfortable and lighting so that she have lots of
free times to develop her own interest just like Yoga and painting. I felicitate for having a happy
family. For me, my favorite sports are tennis and swimming. I always play the video games for fun
and relax when I am in break. To be honest, I changed so much in these years. When I was young, I
was outgoing and happy to communicate with others. But now, with the increasing of the age, I like
to keep silent and do my own job.

I studied in the best middle school of my hometown. And when I decided to study abroad, I came to
an international school in Beijing. From there, I learnt lots of knowledge of foreign culture and met
some people from different states because this international school is a hosting school, and that’s
one of reasons for me to develop ability of independence. Of course I met some new friends and they
became the most important friends in my life. But unfortunately we had no chance to study in one
college abroad. One of my friends went to the UC Davis and some went to the University of Colorado
Boulder. However, that won’t impede our friendship because we still in the same nation----the US.
The modern technology can help us keep contact by using some software like Facetime or Skype.
When the breaks come, we may come together for travelling in this beautiful nation. And I welcome
them to come Ohio. There are so many topics we can talk. And we all have a common interest---playing video game. When we were in high school, we always play the game called Overwatch or the
Counter Strike. And now I still can play with them in the weekend, after we finish our studying plan. If
someone have some trouble, I believe others will help him without the least hesitation. Because we
are the best friends for each other.

Now I am totally adapt the life style in the US and the OSU. There are some celebrations in OSU such
as welcome week and the kick off. All of these activities made me feel excited and hopeful. I find this
is the college life that I look forward. Now I am a freshman of the OSU mathematic major. To be
honest, I prefer the Biology major or the Chemistry major because I think the laboratory classes are
attractive and interesting. So maybe I will change the major in the future, and also I may find that I
am interested in the mathematic at the end of this semester. I have lots of opportunities to make the
choice about my life. I hope to learn some new abilities in my college life such as the boxing and
football. I wish I can find some friends who have the some interest with me and that will help me
keep away from the sense of nostalgia. And in fact, I also hope to have chance to fall in love with
someone. I have the goal now and I need to work hard to get it. I want to try new things, meet new
people, join new club, play new sport, and laugh with new friends in my college life. Therefore, I am
full of expectation and dynamics.
I want to travel to Hawaii in my college life with my friends. I love the beach
