Association formed as a result of WW II propaganda; 4. Accepting the additions to the Shepherd’s Rod Message and teaching for doctrines the errors therein; 5. Tormenting Mother with the distribution on literature in front of the churches on Sabbath, at camp meetings and other SDA events. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 3 The Knockout Blow of 1959 Propaganda. Let us read carefully the statement which the enemy has used to beguile Davidians into believing that the enemy delivered a knockout blow to the movement in 1959: WHR: 33.2: Everything that can be done against God's message of today will be done with even a greater vengeance than was manifest against Heaven's message in the days of Christ's first advent, for the Devil knows that if he loses now, he loses forever -- that he is to have no other chance. Unparalleled, therefore, is the urgency that every eleventh-hour church member now quickly and solidly brace himself against the Enemy's effort to deliver a knockout blow. We must be alert, too, to realize that the blow is to come from surprisingly unsuspected foes -- from professed friends of the gospel, who are no less pious than were priests in Christ's day. It is, moreover, but to be expected that the Adversary will employ every agency possible to prevent the Lord from disclosing to view His now obscure 144,000 first-fruit servants, who are to go gather in the second fruits (Rev. 7:9). The Enemy will try everything conceivable to confuse, becloud, and cover up the Truth, especially on the subject of the 144,000. The word effort means “a serious attempt.” The metaphoric sport of boxing is being illustrated in this statement. We know that in boxing, the aim of each fighter in the contest is to convey a knockout blow so as to win the fight. A delivered blow can knock a fighter to the mat; but if he gets up before he is counted out, it is merely a serious attempt which is scored as a knockdown blow and not a knockout blow. I repeat: Every fighter’s aim is to deliver a knockout blow so that he can win the fight, but if he delivers the blow and it does not connect solidly, then that blow is no longer a knockout blow; it is a knockdown blow because the other fighter gets up before the referee can count to 10. This is the illustration (for those of you who are not familiar with the sport); and if the Rod is using the sport of boxing to illustrate this statement, then we need to understand it before we start teaching contrary to the account. The question we must ask ourselves is: “Did the enemy deliver a knockout blow in 1959 or did he attempt to deliver a knockout blow?” If he did deliver Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 4 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter a knockout blow, it means that the movement within the movement, the Davidians, lost the fight in 1959 and the fight is over! And this movement (that we are claiming lost the fight by a knockout blow), as far as inspiration tells us, is destined to triumph, are we saying that it failed? Yes we are according to the belief system that we had a knockout blow in 1959. Consequently, if we are knocked out, then all of the subsequent efforts by the movement after 1959 are useless. Ask yourself another question: “Are you fighting in a match that is already over?” If you are, you are shadow-boxing. Can Christ, The General of Generals, lose to a defeated foe? Inspiration tells us that the enemy was defeated on Calvary. Therefore, he can never win a fight against Christ, let alone deliver a knockout blow to the movement that Christ said “is destined to triumph, even though all other movements before it failed.” Do we know what we are accusing our Lord and our Saviour of? We are accusing our Lord and our Saviour of losing a battle! Brothers and Sisters, that is an abomination. As Davidians we ought to wake up and give our God the glory and honour that He deserves. My dear fellow Davidians, Are we still in the fight? Is the devil in the fight with us? Are we shadow-boxing because of the belief system of 1959? Well, let me tell you something my dearly beloved brothers and sisters — it is the Devil who will receive a knockout blow when the Lord manifests His power and removes all the tares from His church. Stop this abomination. The Davidian Movement was not knocked out — we did not receive a knockout blow in 1959 or any other year. — A knockout blow is a losing punch to the recipient. Stop telling yourself and others that you lost the fight but look up! Look up to Jesus: The General of Generals who never lost a battle. Get ready, get ready, for our redemption draweth nigh. Stop the abomination The next abomination that we will cry out against is the title “Davidia.” I say, “Davidia or 11th-hour Church, Which?” Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 5 Davidia or The 11th-Hour Church, Which? Let us deal with the name “Davidia”: Is it the name of a place? Is it the name of the composite Davidian Associations and independents? Is it the name used to identify the multi-sectarian 11th-Hour Movement? Is it the composite name of the various “Mt. Carmels?” In my research I found no written evidence answering any of these questions. I therefore decided to ask the oldest Davidian if he knew where the title came from. He immediately said, “Oh, the Old Codes!” I informed him that it was not in the Old Codes and he was a bit surprised that it wasn’t there. It may shock many of you to know that the name “Davidia” is not in The Shepherd’s Rod Message. It was not given to us by God through His servant V. T. Houteff. Consequently, it must have been added by a servant of the enemy of God and His people. Let look us examine the word by itself: Davidia We can see the name David. Let us now hyphenate the word: David-i-a We now have David and “-i-a,” and it looks like it came from the name “Davidian” by just dropping the “n”. David-i-a-n But it sounds like Laodicea. Let us compare the two in juxtaposition: David-i-a La-od-i-ce-a David-i-a-n La-od-i-ce-a-n We know that “Laodicea” was an ancient seaport on the Mediterranean Sea; but what is “Davidia”? Why the change from the name 11th-hour church to Davidia? Evidently, it must be for the same motive as was that of the slave-masters when they changed the names of their slaves: to take away their true identity to begin the process of enslavement. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 6 Every Bible student knows that names are important to our Lord, whether it is the name of a place or a person. He changes them when necessary as we read of Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel and Esau to Edom. We also read of the heathen king, Nebuchadnezzar, changing the names of the four Hebrew captives in an effort to take away their Hebrew identity and identify them with his pagan gods. Daniel’s name was changed to Belteshazzar and he was considered the master of the magicians. Nonetheless, Daniel did not accept the pagan name or title for he was the prophet of the True and Living God; not the magician of a false god. How do we know this? Because it is written in: Dan. 2:17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: Notice that Daniel did not refer to his companions by their pagan names: Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego. He called them by what their Jewish names; their Hebrew names; their true identity. This tells me that they did not accept those pagan names. Let us go to: Dan. 5:12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation. Dan. 5:13 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. [And] the king spake and said unto Daniel, [Art] thou that Daniel, which [art] of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry? Here in chapter 5, we can see that Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson, the new king, was told of the heathen name given to Daniel. However, he did not call Daniel by the pagan name, showing that he knew Daniel rejected the pagan name. What did he say? “Now let Daniel be called,” and then when he spoke to Daniel, he said, “[Art] thou that Daniel..?” he did not say, “[Art] thou that Belteshazzar…” No. He was reminded that his name was changed to Belteshazzar but he never called him that. This tells me that Daniel was respected for standing for the Truth. Shall you dare to be a Daniel and refuse to be called by the new name, Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 7 or title, or whatever else it is, and insist on being called by your God given title? Or are you going to continue being called or titled, “Davidia?” By the usage of this name, I think it means all Davidians as a body. Davidians as a whole have no problem calling themselves Davidia, but they unanimously refuse to be titled as God’s church within His church. A certain brother said that it is an abomination to call “Davidia” a Church; I can see why: for it does not look like God’s church. But I say: It is an abomination to call God’s 11th-Hour church by a name given to it by an uninspired person, whoever he or she may be. I believe the name change is really to get us off-track of who we are and of what is our true purpose. Let us hear how The Shepherd’s Rod calls us in the famous knockout blow statement found in The White-House Recruiter, on page 33, paragraph 2: WHR: 33.2: Everything that can be done against God's message of today will be done with even a greater vengeance than was manifest against Heaven's message in the days of Christ's first advent, for the Devil knows that if he loses now, he loses forever -- that he is to have no other chance. You heard that? “Every eleventh-hour church member.” Don’t let anybody fool you that we are not the eleventh-hour church. Please note carefully that the Devil will attempt to deliver a knockout blow to the eleventh-hour church members, not to any other group of people. Therefore, the eleventh-hour church must be in existence before the Enemy's effort to deliver the knockout blow. Today, Davidians promulgate that we received a knockout blow in 1959 and yet teach that the eleventh hour church is the purified church only: Was the church purified in 1959? And why would God warn the purified church of a Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 8 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter knockout blow to come? Besides, the teaching among Davidians is: After the purification the church is immediately taken to the Kingdom. Is she, then, to expect a knockout blow in the safety of the Kingdom — from unsuspecting foes in the Kingdom? — God forbid! This teaching is void of logic and reason. How can a people with so much light be in so much darkness? The very statement tells us that this knockout blow is to prevent the Lord from disclosing to view the 144,000; which proves that the blow is to come to the eleventh hour church before the 144,000 are disclosed to view by the purification of the church, thus showing that the 11th-hour church is in existence before the purification. Consequently, the doctrines and the teachings that the eleventh-hour church is a purified church are illogical when we are teaching that the blow came in 1959. Let us consider the Matthew 20 chart: The early morning call is a Church: The Jewish Church; its message — the Earthly Sanctuary Truth and its Ceremonial Services. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 9 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter The 3rd-hour call is a Church: The Apostolic Church; its message — Christ’s Advent, Crucifixion and Ascension. Carmel’s Trumpeter The 6th-hour call is a Church: The Church of Philadelphia, The Millerite Church; its message — the 2300 day prophecy. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 11 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter The 9th-hour call is a Church: The Seventh-day Adventist Church; its message — The Three Angels’ Message. It is depicted by the three angels flying on the Chart. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 12 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter The 11th-hour call, we are told by our Davidian leaders and ministers, is not a church! Well, my question is, if it is not a church, then what is it? Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 13 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter The Davidian masses will tell you: “It is an Association.” But an Association is just a type of business entity! Therefore we must ask ourselves: what kind of Association are we? According to a sworn statement signed by the servant of the Lord, Brother V. T. Houteff, we are a Church organization. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 14 Mt. If the purchaser or their heirs or assigns shall violate or attempt to violate any of the covenants or restrictions herein contained, it shall then be lawful for any other person or persons owning property in the original 189 acre tract, herein above referred to, to prosecute any proceeding at law or in equity against the person or persons violating or attempting to violate any such covenant or restriction and either to prevent him or them from doing or too recover damaged or other dues for such violation, all without prejudice to the rights of any bona fide lien holder. Christ, not Brother V. T. Houteff, declared that the 11th hour movement is a church — He did so in the parable of Mathew Chapter Twenty. During the life of Brother V. T. Houteff, there were several Davidian churches in the USA. Let us hear the SRod on this matter: 10SC2: 22.2: The Davidian church at Meadows of Dan was crowded to more than capacity to accommodate the visitors who went from as far as new York and Pennsylvania. Others attended from South Carolina, Tennessee, and various parts of Virginia. 10SC2: 23.3: Those attending were pleased to have Mt. Carmel represented at the meetings and the Mt. Carmel group stated that Virginia southern hospitality was very much in evidence. This is consistent with the declaration in page 33 of The White-House Recruiter which refers to us as the 11th-hour Church. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 18 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter To most Davidians, we are an association that was knocked out in 1959; just like the many Savings and Loan Associations that were knocked out of the banking business in the financial crisis of the 1980’s. Is that our legacy? Is that our legacy, my dearly beloved brothers and sisters? A knocked out association? My dearly beloved, the 11th-hour call is a call within a call according to the chart, or a movement within a movement according to Tract Number 4. Notice that the chart depicts two angels at the 11th hour — one being the sealing angel of Rev. 7: And the other being The Loud Cry angel of Rev. 18: Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 19 Therefore, the 11th-hour church has two messages: the Sealing message and the Loud Cry message. Thus, when studying of the 11th-hour church (and I suggest that you speedily study the 11th-hour church) you must keep in mind as a precept that some statements will be referring to the Sealing message and other statements to the Loud Cry message. I want us to read a statement that will confirm this point: 1SC6: 10.9: "Are we giving the 11th hour message now or will it not be given until after the fulfillment of Eze. 9? Has the angel that is to lighten the earth with his glory (E.W. 277) already come?" If the questioner will consult the chart on page 224 of Vol. 2 of the SRod, he will observe that the angels of Rev. 7 and 18 are represented as coming at the 11th hour, and as we are in the sealing time, it proves that we are now in the 11th hour. 1SC6: 10.10: Concerning the angel of Rev. 18:1, with whose glory the earth is to be lightened, we do not claim to have as yet all his light, nor do we believe that the earth is at present lightened with his glory. But we do maintain that a large part of that light has Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 20 already been revealed and that as soon as the 144,000 are sealed and the church is purified by the separation of the sinners from "the midst thereof" by the men with slaughter weapons as described in Ezekiel's vision, the earth will then be lightened as the 144,000 go forth proclaiming the message to all nations. (Isa. 66:19, 20.) From these statements, we should be nourished with the truth that we are in the 11th hour church, but the 11th hour for the world will strike after the purification of the church when when the 144,000 go to all nations. Again: the 11th hour has already struck for the church according to this reference, but the 11th hour for the world has not yet struck —we are in the 11th-hour for the sealing message. Therefore, my dearly beloved, when reading statements on this subject, keep this precept in mind: There is an 11th hour for the S.D.A church and there is an 11th hour for the world — the 11th hour for the S.D.A church has already struck. — Accordingly, when you see a statement that says the 11th hour has not yet struck, it is talking about the 11th hour for the world; and you will see that the supporting references around that statement will confirm what the statement is talking about. Let us now look at some other statements outside of the 11th hour realm to support the understanding that we are a church — The 11th-Hour Church. Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 21 TN4: 57.4: Through this personified prophecy, we see that the Lord is not now calling forth a "new" denomination, even though the ministry continues to take the membership rights from the adherents of this reformatory message. Consequently, for its successful delivery to the entire sisterhood of churches, our banding ourselves into a body of workers as a movement within a movement, has been forced upon us. In brief, we are to confine our message strictly to the old organization, as did the apostles with their message. For the first three and a half years after the resurrection, they were commissioned to put forth all their effort in behalf of their parent organization only, the last in the Old Testament period; likewise, the Davidians are commissioned to put forth an all-out effort in behalf of their parent, the Laodicean organization, the last in the New Testament period. If there is no difference in the statement between the movements, then they are the same; and whatever the movement is, the movement within the movement also is. Consequently, the movement being a church makes the Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter Page 22 movement within the movement a church — just like the logic of the stone and the mountain of Daniel’s prophecy: whatever the mountain is, so is the stone. But if logic is not enough, let us go to a subsequent statement found on page 66, paragraph 3, of the same Tract Number 4: TN4: 66.3: Consequently, as our leading brethren have inadvertently shown themselves unworthy stewards of God's "storehouse" for the time of the "Loud Cry of the Third Angel's Message,” He has transferred the "candlestick" and is also calling for the tithes and offerings to be transferred into "His storehouse" of Present Truth. He has “transferred,” (past tense) the “candlestick,” and every Davidian knows that the candlestick represents the church. So the Rod tells us that the church is now in the hands of the Davidians, confirming the previous statement of the church within the church — reiterating the statement in The White-House Recruiter: “The eleventh-hour church.” The eleventh-hour church is the church within the ninth-hour church. Do we need another statement? I don’t think we do. But we shall read the final statements published in 1954, five months prior to the prophet’s death: 10SC1: 5.4: Certainly then this move could be a signpost to both Davidians and to Laodiceans that the eleventh-hour message is on the very verge of a final and all-out effort to reclaim the church from the hands of the Enemy. “The eleventh-hour message.” Who is taking the 11th-hour message to reclaim the Adventists church? It has got to be the Davidians with the 11thhour message (the Revelation 7 angel’s message) reclaiming the church — the 11th-hour church members with the 11th-hour message. This statement, published five months before the prophet’s death, confirms that there was no change to the position that there is an 11th-hour message for the church and an 11th-hour message for the world — the former being preached by the Davidians to the Adventist church and the latter to be preached by the 144,000 to the world. It always has been and will continue to be. So, what do we conclude? Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 23 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter The title “Davidia” is man’s invention and on the same par as the new codes. Say NO to the title “Davidia” by taking it out of your vocabulary: And stand like Daniel for Your God Given Title — “The 11th-Hour Church”: That is what we must be referred to as if we are to be referred to as collectively: “The 11th-Hour Church,” the Title given to us by our God. Now, we do not need to go tell mother that we are a church within the church (which may put up barriers) but we need to know who we are. Christ knew that He was the Messiah but He only told it to those who were ready to Presentation No 7 Part One Section Two Page 24 Mt. Carmel’s Trumpeter receive that Truth.
