Gallatin County FOOD Pantry, a Gallatin County beacon of support
since 2014, plays an important role in providing nutritious meals to
those in need through innovative programs and partnerships. The
Hunger Walk and 5K Run on May, is an opportunity for Gallatin County
Food Pantry to raise important funds for purchasing food. Sponsored
by the Freestore Foodbank, 100% of the proceeds collected for the
annual Hunger Walk and 5K Run benefit their hunger Relief partners – Gallatin County Food
Pantry is one of them.
Gallatin County FOOD Pantry is taking advantage of this significant fundraising opportunity,
and is seeking the support of our community. We invite you to coordinate and form your
own internal teams to join in our efforts to raise much-needed dollars for Gallatin County
FOOD Pantry. Many individuals-from school teams, to scout troops, to walking/running
clubs, enjoy participating in the Hunger Walk, because it’s an opportunity to show their
support of our agency while having fun as a group at a great community event.
For $20 (before May 4), each participant receives a cotton t-shirt with their entry fee!
This is a super fun, community event with great food and goodies for the whole family,

Last month we included tips of some ways that you can instill the first two habits in your
children. This month we are including Habits 3 and 4. As a parent, you can teach these
lessons and activities in a fun way and enjoy spending time with your child. These activities
will help your child develop positive habits every day, every week, until they learn all the
habits – to grow in their abilities and confidence – and become a leader. You may order the
guide at www.stephencovey.com and click on the STORE link.
Habit # 3 – Put First Things First
Put FIRST Things First means to decide what is most important and take care of it first.
Talk with your child about the one, most important thing they could do to help in the
morning. Have them draw a picture doing that important thing. Display the picture where
you and your child will see it. Have him/her put an X or maybe a sticker for each day they
remember to be a leader in the morning.
Habit # 4 – Think Win-Win
Think Win-Win is a belief that everyone can win. It’s not me or you, it’s both of us. It’s
working on a solution until both people are happy with it.
Next time there’s a conflict at home; see if you and your child can think win-win. It will
take a little more time in the beginning but, in the end, will be worth it. If your child is
involved in the solution, he or she will be more willing to cooperate.
