ESSCO AGM Conference

Taylor: Debrief on the coop and community session, the student
centers and club/team space session, and the EngSoc image sessions

Julianna: Debrief on the data and analytics session, the volunteer
motivation session, the general meetings session, and the EngSoc
accountability session

Kathryn: Debrief on the large EngSoc session and talked about the
speaker Vernon Kee
Member Announcements

Elaine – Euchre tournament sign up deadline extended. Moxie’s gift
certificate prize

Janelle – Leather jacket sale - $390 without inside pocket (pocket
extra $10)

Tim – OSPE info session in SEB 1200 on October 25th, resume building
session on October 30th and November 1st – will be needing volunteers

Julianna – WIE brunch tickets for sale, please let people know
USC Updates

Clarification on last meeting’s update – Issue concerns the HSB fields,
will give more information after later presentation.

Last year paid $12.93 for Mustang Express, which turned out to be too
much. $260,000 surplus. Few options – refund students $5, fund shuttles to
Greyhound, VIA rail and airport during exam time.
o Natalie – Which airport? London airport.
o Nathan – How does it help people who live in London?
Wouldn’t.
o Julianna – Where would it leave from? Campus.
o Jeff – Could it go to the Robert Q station?
o Tom – Why can’t it be reallocated?
o Mike – Shuttles to greyhound, via and airport are the best way
to spend the money.
o Arun – Can the fee be used to pay off next year’s fee? Looking
into it.
o Dustin – What defines what is relevant?
o Emily – Is there a way to register for the buses, so buses aren’t
wasted if no one is there?
o Nathan – Can the mustang express hours be extended?
o Elaine – Mustang express has often passed me by full.

Exec Updates

Lauren:
o Committee sign up sheet going around – year reps please make
sure you sign up.
o If you are running an event please send me the info, not
Heather, and I will pass along the information so she only
receives one email.
o Constitutional review last Friday – 13 students attended,
fabulous turn out. Reading next meeting and voting the
meeting after.
o Year reps – Meeting on October 22nd at 5:30 pm.

Julianna:
o People who missed council photos, please email in a photo or
go during grad photos
o How many people are graduating? 9
o 4th Year Reps – please tell your classes about grad photos

Wes:
o Lunch and Learn by Digital Extremes
o Chemistry helps session on Wednesday run by LAMP
o Statics review session on October 24th

Natalie:
o Euchre tournament on Wednesday – 12 teams signed up now
o Battle of the disciplines – laser tag and sign up at the UES desk
o Halloween havoc – dry event, held in the UES, fun games and
movies
o Hockey tournament with McMaster on November 10th – is
there interest? Yes. Email Robbie O-Brian if you’re interested.

Gail:
o Leather jacket sale
o Project fund application due today

Mike:
o Students have approached me to fund half the cost of an
engineering jacket for Rick. Who would support this? Motion
defeated. Spencer – Can we still have student donations? Yes.

Ben – What happens to the money if not enough is raised?
Carried over, we will discuss. Tom – Maybe ask people at Ricks
o Working on with faculty to formalize professor complaint
process – meeting with Dean this Friday.
o Working on getting access to book out CMLP 60A&B.
o Council attendance policy – If miss more than 2 meetings
without legitimate reason, exposed to possibility of being
impeached
Kathryn:
o ESSCO teleconference
o NEM director will be selected this week, Emily will be Western
coordinator
o PEO SC applications due on Wednesday
o LIAC – mid-november deadline for feedback and results for the
quality of high school education
o NCWIE application deadline coming up
