2017 Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities
Updates
As a returning test administrator, you are responsible for receiving any updates for the 2017
administration of the AASCD. You have several options to receive the updates:
● attend a refresher session offered by the SST (search STARS for these options)
● access the online refresher which is posted on Ohio Alternate Assessment portal located at

2017 AASCD Administration Updates:
1. There is one field test task on each form. They appear in the end of each form as Task 13. Every
student, regardless of starting task, is required to take Task 13 on each test.
2. Roles in the Test Management Information Engine (TIDE) have changed. TE-ALT (the role in
which someone could administer the test and access the Online Reporting System) has been
changed to TE. TA-ALT (the role in which could administer the test, but not have access to the
Online Reporting System) has been changed to TA.
3. The Plan and Manage Testing, Test Completion Rates, and Test Status Code Reports tasks have
moved from the Test Management Center in the Online Reporting System (ORS) to the Monitoring
Test Progress in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE).
4. Items which require a written response are now embedded in the 6-8 and high school grade band
assessments. Please refer to the Directions for Administration Manual to access the Writing Rubric.
