Project Description
Petrovietnam, Vietnam’s state-owned
oil and gas company is the owner of
Ca Mau Gas–Power–Fertilizer Complex to be developed in Ca Mau
Province, southern Vietnam. A 2x750
MW gasfired combined cycle power
plant will form an integral part of the
Complex. In June 2003, Petrovietnam
appointed Pöyry to provide consulting
engineering services to its Ca Mau
combined cycle power plant project.
The power plant consists of two
identical plants each of 750 MW
output, comprising two F-techno-logy
gas turbine generator units, each with
a capacity of about 250 MW, two
heat recovery steam generators and
one steam turbine generator unit, with
all associated auxiliary equipment and
support facilities.
The gas turbine units shall be capable
to use natural gas or fuel oil. The
plant will utilize natural gas from PM3CAA and Cai Nuoc gas fields, located
in overlapping marine areas between
Malaysia and Vietnam. In case of
shortage or interruption of natural gas
supply, distillate oil shall be used as
stand-by fuel.
The Ca Mau project is one of the
largest power projects in Vietnam.
