Approval of the Minutes
The minutes of 82nd meeting in Israel were duly approved and signed by MAP and NCC.
E&A Europeans in Alfsee
It had been noted that there had been comments made regarding the date of this competition which
is the week before the Tournament Worlds. The Alfsee date had been set before the date of the
Tournament Worlds had been agreed and therefore MAP had asked for the date to be changed
which Markus had very kindly agreed to and the competition date had been moved to a week earlier
so that it did not clash. Due to our season in Europe not being very long, it is difficult to weekends to
organize all competitions far enough apart from each other.
World Cable Council
MAP has contacted Paul Fong and Peter Persoons regarding trying to find people to sit on the World
Council. So far no specific people have been mentioned. We hope if there is anybody in these
regions interested, they will contact us.
It had been disappointing that the World Skiers’ Representative Stuart Marston had not managed to
attend either the World Championships in Germany or World Cup stop in Shanghai.
Seminar 2014
Thanks to Israel for organising the seminar.
MT reported that it had found to be very beneficial and as many of the skiers will now progress on
and become officials.
Seminar 2015
The Cable Seminar will be held together with the Tournament Seminar on 17/19th April in HalleLiepzig in East Germany.
Minutes of the 83rd meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council
page 1/8
The seminar will start at 2pm on Friday however as MAP is unable to come to Halle on Thursday for
a meeting then we will meet on Friday morning and then maybe finish on Sunday afternoon. MAP
meanwhile has found out that she can be there on Thursday, so if possible we, council should try to
all be there by Thursday morning.
There will be no meeting room charge.
Bulletin will come out soon from EK/Ulf Langrock. EK will also liaise with Angeliki Andriopoulou.
Future Seminars
EK is going to try and organise the 2016 seminar in Bratislava with Tournament, however there is a
possibility that the 2016 seminar may be held in Belorussia and if this is so then the 2017 seminar
will be held in Bratislava.
Officials
Any new officials should go to a couple of competitions and get a form signed that they have
attended. It was thought that this form be put it in our rules so that it is made clearer exactly how
you can become an official. Any “International competing” skiers do not need to take a National
exam so that they can be fast tracked. Skiers can only judge at event if they are only participating in
one discipline

E&A and World Records
MAP has hard copies of all E&A and Worlds Results since the start so she will send them MT to post
on cableski.org.
Rules
Confirmed that trick sheet need to be submitted but they do not need to be adhered to.
It was agreed by a majority that rule 10.8 should be changed, not in respect of the overall score
which will not change, but that in future it will be possible for a record to be set during a “run off”.
A skier has to have participated to be added into number towards the final and they have had to
have entered the course. It was agreed to stay with the current system.
“All size” cables drawings are needed and then MG can add them into Cable 2015 rule book
In future the Seniors will be 36+ as it is during the year of your 36th birthday. If it is agreed to change
the Senior “age” and then this idea will proposed at the Congress for ratification. This was later
Minutes of the 83rd meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council
page 2/8
discussed at the Admincom meeting during which Tournament said they had decided not to change
the name but keep it that you have to be 35 on December 31st the year before your first year 35+.
For Cableski as we only have one senior category, this does not matter much, to qualify for senior
category you have to be 35 on the 31st of December the year before.
Team/Overall scores should individuals get overall points? Agreed we keep the system we have at
the moment with all skiers getting overall points
Should we allow Juniors to also have 2 specialist per country per age categories? If so then they can
only ski in 1 discipline and the country chooses the discipline. The country selects the specialists
from amongst their skiers.
These rules are only for “titled” events and it is possible to use different rules for other
competitions. However if the “official rules” are not be used than it should be announced so that
everyone is aware of the rules that are being followed.
Rules for Titled events, in order to better control the duration of the slalom event, the rule regarding
the last full run in Slalom dictates the start speed for finals, should be adhered to. Also the maximum
time needed at shorter ropes is not more than ½ empty round between passes.
It was agreed to keep 3 jumps in preliminary rounds with height of 1.65 for women and 1.65 or 1.80
for men.
Suggestions that only one Trick run in the preliminaries and 2 runs in the finals? First 10 tricks to
score? - but this idea was not agreed by some members of the Council. Also should there by
submitted tricks list given to the judges whereby they just write yes or no by the relevant trick?. We
can experiment with this idea to see how it works. This will further tried out at the International
Tour of Cableski, rather than on titled events.
Agreed to leave the requirement to have the official names of the skiers of each team announced
the latest 10 days before the competition, for Cableski.
Rankings list/ “Who beats who”
“WBW” was explained by MAP and it is based on a percentage system which is dependent on how
many good skiers and what level the competition is.
Emmanuel Lion had forwarded 3 versions that are already available - Candido/Cableski 1/Cableski 2
which are based on a “rolling year” It was agreed to go with Candido system. Discussion regarding
how many competitions skiers need to go to so they appear on WBW Also should there be different
locations that need to be competed at? It was agreed that there will be a maximum of 2
competitions on the same site that will be allowed to be included. The WBW will be based on the
best 5 competitions scores for the skier.
Skiers will receive a number of points based on their placement in the results list at each
competition, regardless the scores. Since one competition is not as important as the other and in
order to give more points when better skiers were beaten at the competition, some coefficients are
added.
As a starting point the following percentages were discussed:
To weigh the importance of the competition (competition coefficient):
1.00 Worlds/E&A Open/World Cup
0.90 E&A Junior/Seniors
0.85 International Homologated
0.60
International Not Homologated
0.70
National Championships Homologated

National Championships Not Homologated

2015 season will start off based on old system but moving forward to use WBW rolling system
Some countries need to know exact score of their skiers in a Ranking List, so it will have to be
published. So we will still have the old fashioned rankings list but it will only be used for this
purpose.
WBW rankings list will be used in the future before E&A Championships to see who has qualified as
specialist.
It was agreed that there would be a “WBW” Ranking List for all E&A Competitions in the future. In
addition there will be a separate Ranking list, ranking the skiers participating in the International
Tour of Cableski.
Qualifications for Titled events (Open)
A discussion was held on the criteria for specialists in the Open titled events. Should Specialists be
selected by their Federations (up to 5 skiers of which age/gender is not important) or by position on
“rankings” list? The criteria at the moment is that the top 10 and the defending World Champion can
ski as a Specialist in one discipline, in addition to the reigning champion and the record holder.
Should it be a percentage of WBW? And how long before the competition should we close the list one month?
Suggestion was top 10%, 2 weeks before the competition but this will not come into until 2016. Each
Country will be able to send a maximum of 11 skiers. No change to the reigning champion and the
record holder (World for the Worlds and E&A for the E&A Cableski Open).
The countries will still be allowed to nominate their 6 skiers for their National team (4/2 or 3/3). At
present there is no minimum qualification for World Championships, should we in the future also
apply this to E&A titled events?
In order to make sure we have skiers participating, who have skied on the cable before, it was
agreed as follows. Minima for E&A Open is that you have to be on WBW rankings list to be able to
ski in each of the 3 disciplines which will demonstrate that is not your first competition.
The “Bureau”
Alain, Sid and Dominique joined the meeting.
Dominque passed on the spreadsheet of expenditure for 2014. There were a few queries which
would be resolved.
Alain passed on thanks to Joost, the Dutch Federation and German Federation for organising so well
and at short notice the E&A Junior/Seniors and World Championships
Sid gave out the new IWWF badges to all.

Congress 2015
The E&A Congress is on Saturday 31st January, 2015 with a visit to the Airbus factory in the afternoon
once the congress has finished. Forms and copies of passports will need to be sent by anyone
wishing to visit Airbus. The visits will be for 1 ½ hours and the delegates will be split into 2 groups.
Our meeting will be on Sunday 1st February due to commence at 9am and scheduled to finish at
lunchtime.
Titled Events 2015
E&A Championships in Alfsee Rieste is 4th- 6th September
At the moment there is no date or venue for E&A Junior/Seniors
It was agreed that the best date for Age Categories would be early August 2nd or 3rd weekend and to
avoid the competition in Asten.
FOC (Future of Cable)
There was a very good presentation from Thomas Bauer, Jana Wittenbrock and Simon Herrmann
regarding their concept of how a World Cable Tour/World Cup stops could be organised and this
resulted in an interesting interchanging of ideas.
How skiers can qualify to be able to attend these events was discussed. The sponsors tend to rule
what they want – Top 10 Men and Women?
Thomas is drawing up a budget and hopes to get some sponsorship. Monies will need to be found
for travel/hotel etc.
The World Cup is the main goal and UWE is going to be in charge of trying to help move the idea
forward and organise it.
Confirmation that UWE organises competitions mainly for Cable Wakeboard events and World Cup
stops, which there will of 3-event Cable competitions also. The organisation of the 3 event “Title”
events will stay however under the control of the E&A and World Cable 3 event Councils.
In the past the Grand Prix final had the most prize money. However at the moment the Grand Prix
series is quite low level money wise as there is a small amount at each of the 4 stops. The idea
Thomas Bauer wants to work out with his ITC, involves higher prize money, by making the finals
more attractive to the public and thus to potential sponsors.
Possibly there is going to be a change name on Facebook from “FOC” to “World Cable Tour” (the
new name is under discussion) as they hope this will increase the number of followers. Meanwhile
the chosen name became International Tour of Cableski (ITC).
AA suggested that we should think of setting up a Facebook page run by a skier.
The first stop for 2016 could possibly be in Israel.
The meeting started again on Sunday morning with Thomas/Janna and Simon joining at the
beginning of the meeting.
The focus of the ITC will be on the Finals. It is very important that there is a good speaker, Operator
and Technical Director.
The lower level judges can be used for the preliminaries.
Every nation can send up to 10 skiers. All competitors need to be entered by their Federation.
They are going to try to go to different countries but if not, 2 stops can be in the same country.
Minutes of the 83rd meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council
page 5/8
First 6 to qualify from the tour in each discipline and each sex will automatically qualify for the World
Cup in case there is one taking place.
MAP thanked FOC for coming to Lisbon and hoped that they had found the meeting helpful which
the Council had.
Thomas will work with Uwe on finding organizers for the stops.
MAP will work with Jana to make a set of rules for this ITC.
World Cup 2014 Shanghai
A very successful event was held and thanks to Uwe/Officials and Skiers for their hard work in
achieving in making the idea of a World Cup stop for Cable 3 event become a reality.
During the competition due to bad weather, strong wind, an idea was tried out whereby the
“speeds” are handled the same way as the shortening with each speed being taken individually and
the starting list is run in the same manner as when rope lengths are given. This turned out to be very
good for the spectators.
Homologation
The Homologation dossier needs to have a record certificate that is able to be printed out.
Joost will translate German homologation dossier, for lower level competitions (say minihomologations) into English and then post on website.
In the future there will be three levels of homologation Rankings List (Normal) /Record
capability/WBW. What is needed to achieve the various homologation levels will be worked out by
MG/JDL and they will bring their views to our meeting in Toulouse.
Athlete of the Year
After a vote Joulia Meier-Gromyko was to be put forward as Cable 3 event Women’s Athlete of the
Year and Alexander Vasko was to be put forward as Men’s Athlete of the Year
It was also agreed for this season that we would give an additional “Special” award to Manfred
Hintringer for recognition of his amazing comeback after his back injury. This award would be
presented at the opening ceremony of 2015 E&A Junior/Senior Championships.
Records
There were 3 Jump records ratified in 2014
Mens - Alexander Vasko at 64.2m at Cableski Worlds in Schloss Dankern
Womens - Iryna Tourets and Joulia Meier-Gromyko both at 48.9m at the World Cup in Shanghai.
In the run off of the Women’s Jump final in Shanghai Iryna actually jumped even further with a jump
of 49.7m but it was not possible for it to be ratified as at present you cannot break a record during a
run off. (See Rules)
Unofficial training
This is always difficult for an organiser to arrange. Should the disciplines be done one at a time? It is
important for the Cable site to decide what is best for them .We can give guidance but not rule on it.
Minutes of the 83rd meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council
page 6/8
Bad Sportmanship
It had been noted that the 3 skiers at 1.65m during the finals of Cable Worlds had actually taken
more time to compete (this was felt to have been unsportsmanlike behaviour as there seem to be a
delay in the skiers returning to the dock) than the 9 skiers competing at 1.80m which had made the
final feel disjointed. Should we make everyone jump at the same height in the final? It would still be
possible to jump at different ramp heights during the preliminaries.
In future if unsportsmanlike behaviour is witnessed should the skiers be given a “yellow card”? There
needs to be clear instructions at Team Captains meeting that any kind of “bad sportsmanlike”
behaviour will be not be tolerated.
Budget
At the moment other councils have added an extra 20 euros towards their travel grants for officials
but it was agreed that we would not increase our entry fees at the moment but would look at it
again at future meetings.
The budget was discussed and we hope that we can charge 50 euros for “WBW” National events
(One National event per country still for free) and 100 euros for Tour (ITC)/International WBW and
200 euros for fully homologated/Record Capability events. With the new type of
homologations/competitions and the WBW list, we hope to get more competitions on our calendar
so we can continue to contribute to the travel cost of our officials at titled events without asking for
an extra 20 Euro per skier.
At the moment unfortunately it appears that no sites are interested on “sponsoring” the website.
Grand Prix
Kosice are hoping to solve the water blue/green alga issue and also the rent to be charged by the
municipality appears to have been resolved positively.
At Havirov the water has nearly gone and the site is going dry. Unfortunately they do not receive
support from their Federation but they do receive support from the local city. Before putting any
event on calendar we should check with them that everything is OK
Typically Grand Prix includes age categories as well as Open, this may make the competition less
attractive for spectators.
E&A Junior/Seniors 2014
It had been a very nice competition however there were problems with fog during the finals day but
everything managed to get finished on time.
World Championships 2014
Another good competition organised at Schloss Dankern and our thanks to the Baron and his family
for their hospitality over the 2 competitions
And once again our thanks to Joost and his organising committee for all their hard work organising
both successful competitions.
