Position: Board Member
Who We Are:
ProChoices is a Vancouver non-profit, by-donation counselling clinic and feminist narrative
training centre, that provides affordable, accessible therapy services to the community, while
supporting a team of passionate therapists to advance their skills and fluency in feminist
narrative therapy, as well as their leadership capacities in specific areas of interest
Overview:
Our Vancouver-based Board of Directors is accepting applications for General Board
Members beginning in the Fall of 2017. ProChoices’ Board of Directors provides guidance in
regards to the overall leadership and financial management of the organization. Collectively, the
Board works to uphold the mission, objectives and core values of ProChoices and supports the
Council and Executive Director to integrate policies and its programs. This is a one year term
position with opportunity for renewal. Minimum commitment requirement is an ability to attend
board meetings quarterly, though additional involvement is always welcome. Skype/Zoom
attendance is an option.
Some of the qualifications/skills we are looking for:

Theoretical understanding in and passion for feminism and social justice
Grant writing/fundraising/promotion
Special events/community development
Social profit/not for profit experience
Existing experience on a board is an asset
