Job Description:
To provide specialist professional input and project management capacity in respect of the following:
• Protection and sustainable management of the City’s open spaces, natural landscapes and associated
ecological infrastructure and environmental services;
• Development of ecologically grounded open space plans in support of eco-tourism, food security, green
infrastructure opportunities, liveable communities and climate change resilience and adaptation;
• Preservation of areas of scenic beauty and cultural value and the balanced provision of socio-economic
open space and recreation parks;
• Integration of ecological landscape management principle into the City’s planning and service delivery
processes;
• Integration of water sensitive urban design principles with open space planning.
Through the development and implementation of policies, strategies and regulatory or enabling tools,
conservation and rehabilitation programmes and inputs into planning and development processes.
