INTRODUCTION

Api dapat terjadi dikarenakan adanya tiga unsur yang berhubungan yang
dikenal dengan istilah “TRIANGLE OF FIRE /SEGITIGA API”, tiga unsur
tersebut adalah :
1. Unsur Oksigen
2. Unsur Bahan bakar / Combustible material
3. Unsur Panas / Heat

Proses pemadaman api dapat dilakukan dengan menghilangkan atau
memisahkan paling sedikit salah satu dari 3 unsur tersebut, salah satu
caranya dengan menggunakan gas bertekanan.

Api akan timbul ketika bahan bakar, oxidizer dan sumber api sudah menyatu atau
tercampur pada tingkat tertentu.


Padat : plastik, serbuk kayu, fiber, partikel logam
Cair : bensin, aseton, eter, pentana
Gas : asitilen, propana, metana, karbon monoksida, hidrogen
Padat : metal peroksida, amonium nitrit.
Cair : hidrogen peroksida, asam nitrat, asam perklorat
Gas : oksigen, flourine, klor, flour

menggunakan media Gas atau bahan kimia untuk memadamkan api.

Ada beberapa sistem pemadaman api dengan menggunakan gas
bertekanan sebagai media untuk proses pemadaman api, diantaranya :
1. FM200 System
 HFC-227ea
2. Argonite System
 IG-55 (50% Argon / 50% Nitrogen)
3. CO2 System

HOW THE SYSTEM WORK?

Sistem dapat dioperasikan secara otomatis dan manual. System berjalan
secara otomatis selama 24 jam.

Dengan Pengoperasian secara otomatis biasanya akan menimbulkan
kejadian-kejadian dibawah ini:
 Bila rangkaian Zone Detector 1 & 2 dalam kondisi alarm (maka alarm
bell dan multi alert akan berbunyi).
 Tegangan output akan bekerja, mengaktifkan electric actuator, sehingga
valve ditabung akan terbuka, maka gas akan keluar didalam ruang yang
diproteksi.
 Jika Detector yang didalam ruangan tidak berfungsi, sedangkan didalam
ruang tersebut terjadi sumber kebakaran, maka untuk mengeluarkan
Gas dapat dilakukan dengan mengaktifkan tombol “ Manual Release”.
 Setelah Gas keluar maka lampu DNE diatas ruangan akan menyala.
 Selama Gas terpancar, jangan membuka ruangan tersebut sampai Gas
habis.

HOW THE SYSTEM WORK?

Pengoperasian secara manual, dilakukan bila listrik PLN atau panel tidak
berfungsi, maka harus mengikuti langkah dibawah ini:
 Ketahui dengan pasti ruangan yang terjadi kebakaran.
 Tentukan tabung yang berhubungan dengan ruangan yang terjadi
kebakaran
 Pastikan ruangan tertutup rapat
 Kemudian tarik “ pin pengaman “ dan tekan tuas (lever actuator) yang
terdapat pada tabung.

EXCEPTION
FM200 system shall not be used to extinguish fires in :

chemicals containing their own supply of oxygen, such as cellulose
nitrate, gunpowder.

Mixtures containing oxidising materials, such as sodium chlorate or
sodium nitrate.

Reactive metals, such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, titanium,
and zirconium.

All above materials would in case of fire create an explosion.
