Played – Gungahlin Bulls Red 24-8 WIN
The boys played an awesome game – considering the wet, cold and windy conditions at Nicholls on Sunday.
The boys were absolutely ‘drenched and freezing’ but all braved it out to win the game 24-8 against the
Gugahlin Bulls Red team.
All the boys played a fantastic game with Toby Jordan (Smiley), Hugo Nobbs, Luca Morella, Bryn Langridge
and Will Ticehurst all scored tries – not to mention Benny Allard who also went over the try line but a ‘bad’
call from the ref and Benny’s little fingers being frozen – the try was disallowed!! (But we reckon you got it
Benny – good effort!)
Little Billy Hynes made his biggest run yet – with a smile from ear to ear, he was pretty proud of himself!
Our newest player Oscar Chamberlain showed his talent and was very excited to get tacked and yelled out
to his Mum on the sideline to let her know this!!
Hudson Kelly was very eager to get onto the field to do some excellent breaks and help his team mates
finish the tackles off. I’d like to mention Hugo Nobbs, Luca Morella, Toby Jordan and Will Ticehurst and
congratulate them all for their consistent tackling skills throughout the game.

We missed little Xavier Cacciotti on Sunday and hope you are feeling better.
I cannot leave out the funniest part of the game when Shane was trying to organise play and the boys were
too busy kicking and splashing in the puddles with each other at the other end of the field – what Team Spirit
and Boys will be Boys!!
Thank you to the parents who helped us shield the boys on the bench from the rain with their umbrellas.
Have a nice week.
Regards
Leanne Hynes

Played –Tuggeranong Buffaloes 22-34 LOSS
The boys had a close loss this week. They scored first points, however buffaloes forced their way back into
the game. The game was even at 22-22 with three minutes to go and the Buffaloes scored the game
breaker which was followed by another try on the buzzer.
The boys played well however the difference was that the opposition tackled a bit better than us – just a bit.
I’s say Coach will be working on their tackling technique this week. Look forward to Round 6.
Thanks to the following parents for this week – Mark Scarlett and Mick Allard.

Played – South Tuggeranong Knights 50-0 WIN
This week saw the boys warming up along with all of the other Ram’s teams in the pouring rain. It’s great to
see the boys llistening to Scrumpy and Will each week at training and seeing the work they train for pay off.
Once again, the boys were all over the opposition.
The try scorers this week were Aidan (2), Jacob (1), Willie (3), Ben (1), Emmanuel (1), Harrie (1), Jack (2).
The successful goal kickers were Ben, Emmanuel and Brayden. This week’s Principal Power player of the
week went to Brayden who managed to do a great kick in play, which enabled Jack to come down as winger
and score a great try. Next week sees the boys head to Queanbeyan to hopefully a harder game that will
really test their ability. Keep up the great team work boys.

Played – Crookwell 10-14 LOSS
Another very close game for the boys, as expected. Conditions were slippery and overall the ball handling
and effort was good. Once again the game came down to defence and we were exposed at crucial times.
When we go to the gront and playing well, there was a drop off in moving up off the line and this allowed
Crookwell to make eady ground, then score. We know that all games are going to be hard to win therefore
the effort has to be put in for the whole time the boys are on the field. There were when both sides of our
defensive line didn’t move up, so everyone on the field wasn’t working for each other. This is what we need
to work on if the boys are serious about making the semi-finals. When everyone did move up and
contribute, the Crookwell runners were shut down and had nowhere to go.
Again though there were a lot of positive signs. Strong running by the forwards laid some good platforms
and some of the backline movements were excellent. The game was a real arm wrestle, very similar to all
our games this season and the boys have made good progress. The bit to work on is staying committeed
and contributing as much as possible for the team as each player can. When each player does this the
team is going to be even better and it will give them an edge. It’s not easy but it’s a goal for each boy to
work on.
This week’s Man of the Match was Anthony, who made some great charges into the line and also pulled off
some bit tackles. Each player should hold their head up and be looking to improve again for the next game.

Played West Belconnen Gold - 0-4 LOSS – no report available
Uder 13 Blue
Played Belconnen United Black - 22-30 LOSS
What a shame the weather decided to go against us on Gala Day! Our first real cold and wet game caught
most of us off guard I think…
We need to be prepared to play hard in this weather going forward guys – and I’m more than happy to wash
muddy jumpers if it comes from you boys TACKLING AROUND THE LEGS of the opposition.
It’s really quite simple – you can’t run without legs!! Yes indeed we also need to wrap the ball up, but if 2-3
are going in for the tackle we can accomplish both at the same time.
Thank you to the U13 Gold boys to stick it out for a second game: Tristan, Oliver, Tom, Ethan and Nathan
and special mention to Joseph who had another awesome game for the U13’s even after playing for the
12’s.
We came back in the second half and scored 5 tries for the day: Anthony, Zac, Liam, Josh and Joseph.
Goals (1 from 5): Jackson.
