Also integrated into ELA classes will be direct vocabulary instruction, multimodality learning, and test preparation instruction. SPECIAL ED: To increase CST scores among Special Ed students, teachers will implement a variety of SDAIE methods and work collaboratively with RSP teachers to identify and meet student needs. Ongoing professional development will specifically address the roles of both SDAIE methods in instruction and the most effective methods of collaboration for RSP and Subject Area teachers. APPENDIX 3: SMART GOALS ENGLISH LANGAUGE LEARNERS: In addition to the above methods, which will serve our EL students, we will use frequent diagnostic testing to properly designate EL students so that their ELA needs are most specifically addressed. We will work with our teachers and community partners to provide additional support, such as after school tutoring and weekend programs aimed at literacy and proficiency. Implement targeted intervention programs (i.e. READ 180) to scaffold learning for students below grade level.
