filter mud, and bagasse to determine the pH, brix, % pol, apparent purity, color and %
moisture content;
 determining/analyzing pH of dedicated hot and cold water from hot well tank, crystallizer and
nash pump cooling water; condenser hot and cold water from hot well equalization basin; and
spray pond hot and cold;
 conducting analyses of raw sugar deliveries from outside sources;
 recording all pertinent data and analysis of each sample in the information sheet and encoding
in the on-line computerized system;
 assisting the Special Analyst in the conduct of weekly Wet Milling Test, and % fiber analysis
of cane;
 recording daily comparative data on the white board and hourly level of river water and stock
of canes in the yard.
 Sample Simulator Checker (November 1999 – Feb. 28, 2005)
 inspecting visually the cane unloaded into the auxiliary cane carrier;
 determining/encoding in the computer the load level, carrier number, cane quality and
trash/burnt discount of each sample;
 operating the sample simulator to activate the automatic sampling equipment and signal to the
analyst in the first expressed juice (FEJ) laboratory the quality and the start/end of sampling
for each sample;
 recording all the necessary information based on the exact time, carrier number, etc., in
conformity with the planter’s association representative;
 recording the exact time when milling stops and resumes and determines cut-off time for the
hourly tonnage;
 reporting to Supervisor/Assistant any abnormalities/malfunctions of the sample simulator for
immediate action.
