Project #12481
Motivation
There isn’t a sauna on the market
right now that is portable, relatively
cheap, environmentally and
economically sustainable.
Costumer Needs
Green Technology
•Heated by radiant heating
•Reflective material on the inside
to reflect heat from low power
heating tape
•Optional solar collector
•Optional solar panel for power
•Air to air heat exchanger made from
cardboard to regenerate lost heat
while circulating air
The sauna needs to be:
• Portable
• Environmentally friendly
• Less expensive than saunas
currently on the market
• Made with sustainable materials
• Aesthetically appeasing
Specifications
Design Specs
•Able to sit 5 people
•7’ diameter
•5’ high at the edges, about 6.5’ at
the apex
Design
•Hexagonal shape for optimal volume
(less volume means less power
needed)
•Made from a combination of
unrecyclable packaging peanuts and
urethane foam to make a rigid
structure
