Departmental Mission Statement:
The mission of the Department of Technology is to provide a
nationally accredited program, which serves the technical,
managerial, and communication needs of persons desiring
to enter or advance professionally in an industrial technology
related career. The JSU Technology Program will:

• The disaster life cycle describes the
process through which emergency
managers prepare for emergencies and
disasters, respond to them when they
occur, help people and institutions
recover from them, mitigate their
effects, reduce the risk of loss, and
prevent disasters such as fires from
occurring.

• Mitigation: includes any activities
that prevents an emergency, reduces
the chance of an emergency
happening or lessens the damaging
effects of unavoidable emergences.

returns infrastructural systems to
minimum operating standards and
guides long term efforts designed to
return life to normal or improved
levels after a disaster. This is a very
daunting phases of Emergency
Management because it requires
personal and community motivation.
