1. GRADING COURSE OF ACTION
The project involves the construction of a pedestrian and cycle path along “Via Moreali”, the
stretch between Via and Via del Pozzo Cucchiari, connected to the west of the existing path and so
on Moreali Cucchiari, north and south with the path located above Modena-Sassuolo to the
railway, and east to the Hospital and the future path of the project.

According to the classification of the road on the City of Modena, “Via Moreali” is classified as
Interquartiere road.

2. FEATURE OF THE PROJECT
SECTION ROAD
The lanes are characterized by an overall section of 5.50 m east of the railway section ModenaSassuolo and 5.80 m west of the same, to get up to a size of about 6.60 m at the intersection with
“Via Cucchiari”.
The north shore has the minimum size of 0.25 meters. The lane reserved for public transportation,
located south of the vehicular lanes will remain unchanged, as well as the south shore.
TYPE OF PEDESTRIAN-CYCLE PATH
Given the type of road section in question was chosen for the construction of a pedestrian and
cycle path promiscuous. To the west of the railway connection Modena-Sassuolo will retain the
existing pavement to prevent the transit of cycles adjacent to the buildings. As will be built east
rather a single path, given the lack of activity with access adjacent to the project path.
SECTION OF PEDESTRIAN-CYCLE PATH
The project location has a minimum diameter of about 3.20 m in the west section (1.20 m of
pedestrian and cycle-pedestrian 2.00 meters) and about 2.20 m in the east tract. This path is
bordered by the traffic lanes by parking stalls seats in line with section 2.00 m with flower beds
(intersection with Via Cucchiari).
INTERSECTION CUCCHIARI-MOREALI, SCANAROLI-MOREALI, DEL POZZO-MOREALI
Intersection Cucchiari-Moreali the project location is connected with the existing ones, already
included in the intersection with traffic lights and road markings dedicated. Intersection ScanaroliMoreali, considering also the presence of the artifact of the elevated railroad and the trail placed
over it, was scheduled interruption of pedestrian and cycle path at the same time, however, has
increased the section of the walkway adjacent to the place detected at the railroad. At the
intersection of the Well-Moreali has been provided instead of the construction of a pedestrian and
cycle crossing (also in view of the future extension of the path).
IRON STAKES AND U:
Along the pedestrian and cycle path were placed iron stakes and U:
_to the interruption of the signal path before a pedestrian and cycle crossing
_to define, in the highlights, the areas designated for vulnerable road users,
_for route pedestrian flows and to discourage inappropriate crossing of traffic lanes.
ROAD MARKINGS
The pedestrian and cycle path has been appropriately marked with road markings. At the
intersection of “Via del Pozzo” was made for a pedestrian and cycle crossings. At the same time,
the crossing will be removed “Via Marzabotto”, now improperly used as a crossing path.
At the intersection with “Via Scanaroli” was expected to maintain the pedestrian crossing.
At the intersection with “Via Monchio” a pedestrian crossing has been designed to allow
navigation in the same way, the box now instead of on Moreali (near the intersection of Via del
Pozzo). This action required the adjustment of the intersection Monchio-Moreali.
ROAD SIGNS
On the intervention area was reassessed the road signs, signals have been modified because they
are not compatible with the design solutions and it were added the signals nedeed in order to the
project path.
ADJUSTMENT NETWORK
With regard to interference with the networks, facilities, or existing information has been
provided:
_ The adaptation of some existing drains placed street side,
_ Moving a pile IP
_ Moving a bin for refuse collection,
_ Moving the position of the bus stop north side,
_ Moving a mailbox,
_ The removal of 16 trees (Linden) located on the north side of Via Moreali. At the same time was
provided for replanting three trees.
