TIER 1 NEWS
FALL IS IN FULL
SWING!
The weather is getting
cooler and the leaves are
changing their colors to
brilliant reds, oranges, and
browns. Teachers and
staff should now review
appropriate dress for
outdoor activities such as
recess and field trips. Just
like the season, WLC is
now in full swing. Despite
small changes, we are all
familiar with our schedules
and routines. If you notice
students struggling, please
reteach the expected
behavior and model it in
the appropriate setting. If
your student is still
struggling, document the
behavior by filling out a
minor and/or major
behavior referral.
In conclusion, September
has been a great month of
implementing PBIS at
fidelity and we have seen
the success it has
produced. According to
our most recent SAS
Survey, we have grown as
a staff in understanding
and living the Waupaca
Way and this is truly
visible in the amount of
Comet Pride we all had
during Waupaca’s
homecoming week.
Our Tier I team had it’s
first meeting of the year
and we met in Nancy
Gram’s Music Room. We
noted keeping the PBIS
momentum going as a
theme for our school year.
This theme is especially
important noting our 2015
School Assessment
Survey (SAS) showing us
how far we have come as
a school in 3 years.
WOW! The results really
show us how being proactive with behaviors
makes a difference! When
you see the results
(posted in the lounge), you
can compare the amount
of “red” from the first year
to the THREE we have
now. The WLC has
definitely shown positive
growth! Way to GO!!
TIER 2 UPDATE
We are meeting every
Monday morning reviewing
behavior referrals and
noting the students who
may benefit from a Tier II
behavior intervention like
Check In/ Check Out.
Currently, we have six
students utilizing this
intervention. We also
have 7 students who are
receiving mentoring from a
Kids Hope Adult, with
more being added.
