GAS CONSUMPTION is equal to the price per therm multiplied by the number of therms used. From the sample bill, the customer used 43 therms at a rate of $0.529 per therm, which equals a current gas charge of $22.75. *Specific charges make up the AGL base charge – for details, visit atlantagaslight.com. TAXES are mandatory and an identical rate among Georgia natural gas providers. WALTON’S CUSTOMER SERVICE CHARGE is $5.75. Other Georgia natural gas providers charge nearly twice that amount, which is significant over 12 months. THINGS TO CONSIDER: • During colder months, the majority of your bill is gas consumption. • Remember, when you receive a bill, you’re actually paying for gas consumption one to three weeks prior to the billing date. Therefore, your bill may reflect different usage from your current usage, especially during billing periods with dramatically changing temperatures. • Gas consumption is listed in CCFs, which equals the volume of 100 cubic feet of natural gas.
