3. The bottled drinks have limited buffer stock given the fixed number of bottles (Bottles are sent to
MalaysiaforbottlingandthendeliveredtoSingaporeforsale.Insuchsituation,theyarefacinglimited
bottlessincethemorebottlestheyhavetheymoretheycanputasbufferedstocks),thecollectionof
emptybottlesfromcustomersandthedeliveriesofbottledwaterfromMalaysia.

4. Deliveriesarebasedongutfeelandad-hocplanninginsteadofasystem-generatedrouteoptimization
basedonoptimaldeliveries.RoutePlanning–Manuallydonebyavehiclecontrollerondailybasis.Due
to human, the business is unable to fully optimize and consider all constraints (i.e. capacity, time
window,priority,standingordersetc.)
5. Currentlydriverscandecidewhethertoacceptorrejectdeliverieswhichisnotidealascustomersare
unawareofno-show.
6. Theback-endsystemthatgeneratedeliveryordersandinvoicesarestand-aloneandnotintegratedwith
planning.
7. ExpectedDeliverytime–ThereisnoeachETAinformationforeachdeliverywhichmakesitdifficultto
squeezeinmoredeliveriesandhencedifficulttoimproveproductivityforeachdriver.
8. Delivery Performance – Since every process is manual, getting meaningful metrics to measure drivers
anddeliveryperformancetakeslargeefforttoaggregateandcompare.

9. JobsheetsareexportedasExcelformatandre-arrangedmanuallybeforeassigningtodrivers.
10. Accountability -Lack of accountability for each delivery as DO(delivery orders) were allocated to
respectivedriversbuttheinvoicesdonottallyastheDOwerenotscannedbydrivers.
11. Live Updates – Office administrator only know about failed deliveries at the end of the day. Office
administrator cannot react or re-allocate drivers as they don’t call. In Additional, they were unable to
informcustomerbeforehandreducingcustomersatisfaction.
12. ProofofDelivery–ProofofdeliveryisbyhandsignatureonDOwhichisnotreal-timeandhenceoffice
administratorsdonotknowhowmanyjobsarecompletedinreal-time.
