The following information must appear on your commercial invoice to facilitate the import into the United States.
Your company name and address
The HII business unit name and address that is receiving the merchandise
Date of shipment and in-country place where the merchandise shipped
Identification of the U.S Port of entry to be used
Detailed description of the merchandise in English. Generic descriptions are not sufficient.
Quantities in metric weights and measures, pieces, net or gross weights.
Purchase price of each item in currency of sale. Note that any "free of charge" merchandise must have a
commercial value listed (the price that would normally be paid by HII if the part were actually being
purchased). “Fictitious” values are not allowable. In this case, the invoice should state “For Customs
Purposes Only”.
Currency (preferred U.S. Dollars, USD)
Any other charges or deductions not included in the price of the merchandise such as:
Freight
Cost of dies, molds, tools or other material provided by HII to
complete the production of the goods
Cost of the engineering work provided by HII or a third party to
complete the production of the goods
Discounts
Commissions
Insurance
Packing Costs
Testing Costs
Other
Any rebates, drawbacks, or bounties
Country of Origin (last Country when significant transformation of material occurred)
Name of responsible employee who has knowledge or who can obtain knowledge of the shipment.

When the shipment relates to a U.S. Government Contract include the following statement on the invoice:
“U.S. DEPT. OF DEFENSE DUTY-FREE ENTRY CLAIMED PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 98,
SUBCHAPTER VIII, ITEM 9808.00.3000 HTSUS. UPON ARRIVAL OF SHIPMENT AT PORT OF
DESTINATION, IMPORTER/AGENT WILL NOTIFY COMMANDER, DEFENSE CONTRACT
MANAGEMENT AREA OPERATIONS (DCMAO-NY0, 207 NEW YORK AVE., STATEN ISLAND, NY
10305)”
