Environmental law is recognized as being an area of the law that changes at a break-neck pace. This year is no exception. The
rewriting of federal and provincial environmental laws – and the way they are interpreted by regulators - have significant
implications for the practice of environmental law in Ontario. This program is designed to bring you up to speed with respect to
recent changes to key legislation including: the Fisheries Act, the Species at Risk Act, the new more stringent brownfields
requirements and Source Water Protection Committees under the Clean Water Act. Environmental law also requires knowledge
of policies and practices. This program will provide an update on the evolution of soil management policy and discuss the
changing reach of Ministry of Environment orders. The program will be capped off with an update on the year’s most important
new case law. Be sure to register to ensure you stay ahead of the curve.
