Serving of Alcoholic Beverages
POLICY STATEMENT
The Strait Regional School Board respects the rights of
communities to establish values in relation to the serving of
alcoholic beverages under the liquor licensing regulations in Nova
Scotia. The Board will condone this practice in the following
circumstances:
 Alcoholic beverages may only be served at functions which are
sponsored by non-profit organizations or for private functions for
non-profit purposes.
 Only the members and guests of the sponsoring group or
individual will be permitted access to the event.
Sponsors of licensed events are required to comply with all
relevant licensing regulations.
 Depending on the nature of the event, the Board will assess the
amount and type of security personnel that must be provided. The
cost of security services will be the responsibility of the sponsor.
